If you're considering this watch just keep in mind this is NOT a smart watch, this is a wrist display for your fitness app running on your phone, don't expect it to be more than that and you will be very happy.
I am currently using Wahoo on Android and it works perfect, is exactly what I was looking for; I wanted a watch that shows my stats while jogging and allow me to pause the work out all that without having to take my cellphone from my waist bag, you can also pause the music which I don't really need it because I can do it from my wireless headphones, but I believe the music have to be started from your fitness app and Pandora is not on the Wahoo list, but I am no exactly sure about that.
is extremely light, which is perfect for me I have a Moto 360 2nd gen wich IS a smart watch and honestly I never jogged with it cause is heavy to wear it during workout and cause I don't want to sweat all over my pretty rose gold $350 watch. OK back to Echo, the watch is quite big for skinny females but since is so light I doubt anyone will complain about that, check the pic I uploaded you will see my wrist is super skinny, the band has holes all the way so no problems there either, they say the band cannot be replaced, so for that I will advice to only wear it during workouts, clean the sweat afterwards and keep it away from hot environments (don't leave it in your car).
The watch connected to my app very easy and fast, I was just a little lost because I was trying to pair it to my phone using the Bluetooth settings and connection was rejected, seems that you have to pair it from the fitness app, or at least that was the case for my Android Moto X and my Wahoo app.
One awesome surprise I got was that this watch came with a heart monitor wich I won't be using cause I have my Wahoo Tickr, but I certainly appreciate to have a spare one, I probably didn't read the part that says it comes with it, but for me was a nice surprise and for $38.98 is definitely not too shabby, is actually a bargain.
Price: well I first saw this watch on their website and this model I believe cost $150 with heart monitor and $99 without it, I certainly believe is overpriced on their website, probably $50 is fair for the one without heart monitor.
Quality: I will update in a few months.
1. It connects/disconnects randomly. Never for more than 30 seconds at a time, and it reconnects, but annoying.
2. Battery life isn't as claimed. First one lasted a week or 2. Second one lasted maybe 3-4 weeks. Used almost daily for 30-60 min/day. The batteries are cheap online and easy to replace though, so not a huge deal.
3. For skiing, it doesn't track total ascent accurately (this is a problem with wahoo app) during the workout. I can't figure out what numbers it's showing. Strangely, when you end the workout, the ascent is tallied correctly in the summary.
The heartrate monitor is awesome. Works flawlessly, comfortable (as much as these things can be), accurate.
For the money, this really can't be beat--you'd have to spend well into the triple digits to do what this can do, and still probably not get that much. It's a shame that more app developers haven't embraced it.
I like using the Nike+ GPS app and associated web site. But recent updates trashed the app. So I bought the Magellan to use as its software would also upload to the Nike site.
The Magellan works fairly well. Once set up, easy to use and does import to Nike (and other running logs) well. It does feel a bit cheap. And it doesn't seem to "smooth out" pace very quickly. It seems to jump around a lot. But I like being able to customize the buttons and advance songs w/the watch.
It has nice features. But without built in GPS not sure of value. If you use your phone for running (I use an iPhone) then a good value. But if you don't plan on using you phone while running, you have to go in another direction. It is essentially useless without being connected to a phone.
But honestly I'll be replacing it with Apple Watch when it comes out.
Cons: There's no written manual. This is a particular problem when the website is down and the online manual isn't available. That was the case when mine arrived. I bought it to display data from the Wahoo app, and I consider it to be secondary to the app. To me that means that Magellan has to go out of its way to provide explicit instructions for the app I like, not the other way around. The instructions weren't great. There have also been some instances when large portions of my run weren't recorded because the pause button got pushed against the back of my hand while running. Loosening the band makes that less common, but it still happens sometimes.
