My genre of choice is romance with a ghostly paranormal twist. In my life prior to becoming an author, I was a Legal Assistant/Office Manager for a wonderful local estate planning attorney (no criminals that I know of). Prior to that, I also worked my way up the ladder in a large corporation, from payroll clerk to supervising nine employees in operational accounting. When my children, Shandelle and Pilar, were small, I took a few years off to be a full-time mom and help my husband with his accounting work for his auto repair shop. After, Michael, my husband, sold his business, he changed professions and started working for a national construction company. Michael and I raised two beautiful, strong women so that's who I write about. The women in my books are strong individuals that have moments of weakness and frailty to work through. --This text refers to the paperback edition.

I've been an avid reader for years. To my husband's dismay, I have bookshelves full of books, rooms full of books, boxes full of books. My cars have books in them. I just can't seem to get rid of them after I read them. You just never know when you will want to read it again, right?

About two years ago, my husband gave me the dream gift, a Kindle. It was love at first sight and my first foray into the world of ebooks. To say the least, I am a technologically challenged person but when a reader, such as I, is told that you can have the book you want to read in seconds, I'm going to do whatever it takes to learn how to use it as quickly as possible.

While I still have books everywhere, I no longer take ten or twelve books with me when I go on vacation. The only thing I need is my Kindle. It never leaves my purse.

My genre of choice is romance with a paranormal twist. My authors of choice are Diana Palmer, Iris Johansen, Catherine Coulter, Jill Gregory and of course, the queen, Nora Roberts. I am also very partial to Michael Connelly, who is not a romance author but damn that man can write!

This is another wonderfully written romance by Author Sandy Wolters. In this intense story, Maggie Mae and her husband were only married 12 hours when a tragedy took his life. They had been bonded together since the day they first met two years prior. She could not ever believe in the possibility of loving another man other than her loved Jimmy. She had her friends, a twin brother, but did not socialize, nor did she date. She had friends who would try to introduce her to potential dates, but Maggie had her humorous and extreme ways to make the men run from her. She and Jimmy had together built their own home in the higher elevation of Arizona in Elk Bend. It was her forever home. Her brother tries to remove a tree endangering her small home, but the task is bigger than him -- the tree falls on the cabin, collapsing the dwelling. Marc is really fearful of his sister's rage when she returns home. He calls Chief of Police Michael Rogers to send deputies, lots of them, the fire department, and EMT, because he was so fearful of his sister. Was Marc exaggerating? The Chief thought so when he saw petite, 5 ft. two inch, beautiful Maggie Mae sitting in her vehicle in shock staring at her demolished home. This book is fast paced, and the writing style fantastically allows you to move right along, without stalling. There is much humor, fun, and love in this story. If this were made into a movie, the actress Holly Hunter who starred in "Always" would fit the personality of Maggie Mae. I loved it, and I think you will, too.

This is a delightful story written by a debut author whose talent lies in revealing her character's deepest emotions, making us know exactly how they're feeling so we can sympathise and really care what happens to them.
Maggie is a woman who loves deeply and when her husband dies on their wedding day, she's completely and utterly devastated. So much so that she she's sworn off men and love. Until her twin brother destroys the house her and her fiancé had built together. Then Michael, the local chief of police, was called in to save the life of the man terrified to face his sister. Once Michael sees her, it's instant attraction. In his mind, how could anyone who meets Maggie not love her? - I know I did!

The promo page for this book stated: A steamy contemporary romance with a ghostly paranormal twist. It is that, but if the paranormal might keep you from reading it, don't let it. It is just a small aside, its presence doesn't dominate the story, nor make it scary, which you might think from that line. This is a story about Maggie Mae, a spitfire woman with determination and beauty and an undeaftable way of taking on life and wrestling it to the curb! Every character has a believeable life of it's own in this book, we have met them or someone like them and it is very easy to follow. It is about overcoming the fear that comes from knowing and losing a once in a lifetime love, and learning to go on, and learning to love again.

This was the first book I read by Sandy Wolters and I Loved, Loved it!
She really brought the characters to life and I was hooked from the beginning. Maggie Mae brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my heart! The descriptions of Arizona were as beautiful as this state is. The paranormal part of this I enjoyed to as I do believe in ghosts! I can't wait to read Brothers Love that I just bought! Keep writing, I'll be waiting for the next book too!!

Maggie May is a fire cracker of a woman with a troubled past and a pension for pushing potential love interests away. That is, until she meets the local Sheriff when a tree falls on her house. This book is quirky, quick witted and well written. Sandy Wolters is a genius at finding the perfect blend of drama and comedy in her books. This book will have you crying, laughing and when it's over I promise you will have a smile on your face.

A Funny Romantic Read

Maggie Mae Dixon is seen on the beach ready to marry the man she loves. James David Carson is the man who filled the empty spot in her life. But it's all a dream. Her husband died five years ago.

She's come to visit with Amanda and says hello to her dad, Rafferty. Rafferty was Jimmy's best friend and business partner. He also has a secret. He wants to tell Maggie but the time has never been right. Sandy gives us a glimpse of what Raff and Maggie had in the past. She will have you laughing when she tells you the story of Maggie on the slopes and how Raff is there to save the day.

We see Michael Rogers telling his officer, Michelle Dooley, about an incident at the local middle school. It will have you going eww. Sandy's writing makes the scene very believable and laughable at the same time. Michael then gets an interesting call on his cell phone.

We find that it's Maggie's brother, Marc, on the other end and he's in a panic. You would think the world was coming to an end or World War III was just around the corner. Meanwhile, Maggie is recalling an incident between her and Raff's mother. Can we say woman from hell?

Michael then gets to meet Maggie and she surprises him. As you read the scene, she will surprise you as well. There seems to be a connection that neither of them can explain. We see her start as a caterpillar and then turn into a butterfly.

Maggie then has to go to her friend Carley's house. Carley has been trying to set her up for a while now. Maggie gets very creative in getting rid of her blind dates. It's just one more scene where Sandy has you laughing.

Maggie's first sexual experience, since her husband passed away, is very hot. And at the end of the scene it's one more time that Sandy has you laughing. Then she turns around and turns up the heat. But always in the back of your mind you wonder what became of Raff. And then Michael and Raff meet - can we say roosters?

I had never heard of Sandy before. Then I was asked to do a review of this book. I was very happy that I was asked. She has a way of spinning a story that has you falling in love with the main characters. Her female character is a woman who takes no prisoners and laughing at her at the same time. If you haven't read "Maggie Mae" before you need to read it or at the very least have it on your TBR list.
