And, it will not be the last of his books I will read. I wish all State and local Sherriffs were as patriotic as he is. They should all attend his seminars and read his book, before jumping on the 'gun control train'.

All patriots in the US need to be outspoken on this issue, lest we lose our ability to protect our rights in this republic as the Constituion and the Bill of Rights intended for us.

We don't have to be sheep or wolves, but willing to be outspoken and to protect our rights.

You Need to Read This Book - Here's Why

This book is clearly written and an important one to read. I couldn’t recommend a book more highly. Why should you read it? Here’s why.

Sheriffs are usually elected (seldom are they appointed) and so they must pay attention to public opinion, and navigate it even if they don't agree with it. Sometimes one get elected who cares nothing about our Constitution and the principles of liberty which made our country a shining example. Some are courageous like Sheriff Mack, and take their oath to uphold and defend very seriously. We need to give these people our active support - they can't do it all by themselves.

If you, dear reader, are a person who demands to be in control of your own life - if you think for yourself and do not blindly follow the opinions and decisions fed to you by newscasters - then you will want to know and understand the facts and the backstory on what is happening in our country today. And, armed with the facts, you will be able to attend public meetings and rallies, write letters to our elected officials and newspaper editors, and talk with your friends about these issues.

See in Christopher's review my comment below about the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA). The Google Browser blocks you from being able to load their web pages. Use a different search engine and internet browser to access their site.

If you love our country and want to preserve it, now is the time to get active and do what you can. The barbarians are not only at the gate, they are breaking through it in several locations. It’s now or never for patriots!

Outstanding in the true sense of the word! I had no idea...

OUTSTANDING!! Well writen, cogently layed out, easy for anyone to understand. I wish I had the opportunity to give this more stars. I have read a good deal of excellent works across all genres, but this is the first time I have been so compelled to write a review. I am a father of seven, husband of one, law abiding, and a compassionate health care practitioner who cares about the safety and well being of all my fellow citizens. I am particulary concerned for the safety and well being of my family and am concerned that my (and my fellow citizen's) right of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is in jeopardy after observing this whole debacle over gun control. After reading Sheriff Mack's book (actually, I purchased the audio book), I am now strongly compelled to write to the sheriff of my county to respectfully request that he officially state his position on how he will respond to the Federal Government should unconstitutional gun control laws be enacted. I had absolutely no idea that the county sheriff's could "just say no" to enforcing unconstitutional laws passed down by the Federal Government; thank goodness there is someone who can draw a line in the sand for us. I look forward to reading more of sheriff Mack's works. I have seen some of his interviews on YouTube and I am very impressed with what he has had to say. Folks, please read (or listen to) this book, and ask your sheriff to state in writing his or her position on these matters. Please visit the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officer Association website (cspoa "dot" org).

Sheriff Mack, if you are reading this, I ask that you put up a primer for citizens and guide them as to how to write to their sheriff, what should be requested, and also, if their request goes unanswered, what should be included in a open letter submitted to a local newspaper that not only makes the request of the sheriff in an open forum, but also includes brief verbiage educating the citizen who may be reading the piece.

This book deserves 10 stars

For those who do not know of Sheriff Richard Mack and who care about this country and your own hometown. This book is an absolute must. I cannot say he "exposes" the truth because it has always been there. But in one relatively small book the principles of liberty and freedom as laid out by the authors of our Constitution are spelled out very clearly. Our continued "Independence" (I say that loosely) is dependent upon our eternal vigilance. Th author cites his own personal experiences (all the way up to the Supreme Court - where he won) and those of other true "Patriots" who understand this country was fought for individual rights and limitations on government.

We are currently close to (and in dire need of) another "Revolution". It is almost a given under the current political situation.

The courage & bravery that exists in the heart of several people in the past and present are laid out here. So "liberty" is not yet dead. This is NOT just about "Gun Control" - it is about taking back the real freedoms this country was founded upon. We now have a "nanny state" where we have, for a large majority, been doped into accepted the "controls" laid out by a corrupt government (and not just in D.C.) instead of our own abilities for "self-reliance" (long since left out of of education system.)

To quote one item: "Never, under any circumstances, ask the government to take care of you. Because they will!"

Get this book (in fact buy a bunch) and pass it around - especially to your local "officials" and vote according to principle instead of popular rhetoric.
