Exactly as advertised

I purchased these cards as well as the "Blank Playing Cards" from U.S. Games Systems and the "Blank Playing Cards" sold by Stork Landing Inc. Each brand of cards was very different.

First of all, these are the exact same as the Bicycle playing cards you're probably used to using, except with blank faces. My deck had 56 cards in it. It came in a red box, but the cards had blue backs --- confusing.

I tried 5 different types of media on these cards, with varying results: 1. Uni-ball 'Signo' gel ink pen - These cards were almost too waxey for this pen, but it still wrote legibly. However, after almost two hours the ink still wasn't dry and smeared when I touched it. 2. Bic 'Mark-it' marker - This marker wrote well on these cards, but after almost two hours the ink still smeared ever so slightly. 3. Sanford 'Sharpie' fine point marker - This marker worked perfectly on these cards. Ink dried relatively quickly and after an hour did not show any signs of smearing. 4. Pencil - Did not work at all, other than a very faint impression. These cards are too waxey and don't have enough "tooth" for pencil. 5. Bic ball point pen - Did not work at all for the same reasons as the pencil. I think Sharpies are by far the best media for these cards.

Overall, I'm very pleased with these cards and I got exactly what I anticipated. These are perfect for magic tricks, flash cards, customized game cards, etc. Just not pencil or ball point ink work of any kind.

Worked very well!

I bought these for a special project I had in mind for my husband's 50th birthday. I wrote "50 things I Love about You". One per card. That went over wonderfully (I still have to pat myself on the back for that one). These are perfect cards, and I had no problem with a Sharpie smearing because I laid each one out and let it dry for a couple of minutes. I recommend them for whatever your project is.

Good as a trick deck, or in combination with other decks.

Very handy, either as a full on trick deck, or just as a supply for trick cards to be used with other decks. I got these with the goal of printing custom faces on them for personalized reveals. However, these will need to be prepared for inkjet printing first, unless I can find a coating that can be applied that will prevent the ink from smearing.

I bought these to create a Valentine's Day present - where they would open it and see a standard deck of cards (cue mild disappointment) only to open them and find that each card contained a little love note written on the back!

This is exactly like a regular deck of cards, the surface is very slippery. The backs are as pictured and comes in a regular case (I was happy that it didn't say "blank cards" anywhere on the case). I used a thin-tipped sharpie marker in my silhouette cameo to print all the messages on the cards. The sharpie dries quickly and doesn't smear!

I'm sure most people want this for replacement cards for incomplete decks. That would work great. It's the standard red back you always see.

We actually use them as flash cards for our kids. We used card-stock before, but it's nice to be able to really shuffle them well.
We also got a few other kinds so we could use different colored backs for different subjects.

My daughter loves this deck, because she is able to pretty them up in her own way. She has drawn her own designs and even printed off different pictures and glued them on some of the cards, They are rather sturdy, and she has been able to get rather creative with them.
