Her quest for knowledge has covered every aspect of Paganism and Wicca to New Age and Eastern philosophies; plus history, the magical arts, philosophy, customs, mythologies and folklore. In 1998, she was voted Best Wiccan and New Age author by Silver Chalice, a Pagan magazine.

Conway is the author of  more than 20 nonfiction  books including: Celtic Magic (Llewellyn), Dancing with Dragons (Llewellyn), Mystical Dragon Magic (Llewellyn), The Ancient Art of Faery Magick (10 Speed Press), and The Little Book of Candle Magic (10 Speed Press).

This book is a wonderful reference at an affordable price that any Witch/Wiccan/Pagan etc., should get if they want information and correspondenes/references for a multitude of gods and goddesses from around the world in an easy to use format. I find the cross-reference section and index in the back to be most helpful, when I want to look up gods/goddesses with specific attributes or who would assist me with my desired goals in ritual, spellwork, meditation, visualization etc., to just to communicate with.

Typical of many neo-pagan resource books, this book is filled with inaccuracies and speculations about the cultures and deities it presents. Conway has compiled a lot of information here and that has some value, but the quality of the info, as well as the presentation, seriously lack. I give Conway credit for compiling a list of deities sorted by culture (and in many cases, nationality too) because I can think of no other author who has even attempted a resource like this from a neo-Pagan perspective since the Farrars published "The Witches' Goddess" and "The Witches' God". This book might be a good starting point for a very green newcomer to Paganism and/or the study of ancient cultures. Otherwise, save your money for academic mythology books that are more readable and accurate . . .
