I recently found a flashlight at Goodwill and bought it for 3 bucks. And the bulb didn't work of course. Went to Radio Shack and bought these maglite LWSA201's and two other Radio Shack brand ones. Reason I bought them was because I wasn't sure which would work. So the following is what i had:
*Radio Shack "PR2" 2.38V 500mA Replacement Lamp
*Radio Shack "KPR101" 2.40V 600mA High-brightness Krypton Bulb
*these MagLite WhiteStar Krypton "LWSA201" labeled for "2-Cell C&D".
Yes. The copyright of the MagLite's were 2003. But in all honesty, it shouldn't really matter. I think I have a $1 flashlight somewhere I bought as a kid from 1995 that has an incandescent bulb made in the 70's Soviet that'll give out light right now just like it did day one.
Anyway I compared all three to each other and this is what I found...
The two radio shack ones were good. The "krypton" KPR101 had just a slightly whiter light compared to the "non-krypton" PR2. I switched them back and forth about 3 times before I gave up and moved onto these MagLite bulb.
Lemme tell you, the light from the MagLite is only a smidge whiter than the "krypton" KPR101 but there were two more noticeable things.
1) It was actually brighter than either Radio Shack ones and
2) The actual shape of the light hitting a wall 20 feet away was more spot like and not wonky looking.
I believe it's primarily because the MagLite's actual filament is lower or higher than the filaments in the Radio Shack ones. In any case these MagLite bulbs are a winner. I'm actually planning on going back to my local Radio Shack and purchasing all of them as they were on clearance (as of early 2013). They were that much better than the Radio Shack bulbs.Read more ›

Worked perfectly. Did not want to try and replace this bulb with a LED type. Wanted original. These bulbs are identical to the one that came with the flashlight.Published 29 days ago by Mark G
These bulbs are used. The light brightness is worse than the old ones I was looking to replace. Don't buy these junk bulbs.Published 11 months ago by TKO
