I drive a 2008 Mustang and a 2013 Toyota Camry. Due to the curvature of Camry dashboard and therefore, its centrally placed and angled air vents, this mount was useless. The face of the Note 5 was facing upwards towards the car roof. Trying to use it on the left side vent was also no good as the steering wheel obstructs your view of the phone. It would also require you to string your charging cord over the steering column.

My first time using one of these magnetic mounts. Love that it comes in a 2-pack: one for each of our cars. I primarily got it so I had somewhere to stash my phone while driving instead of in the cup holder. Works great when using phone as GPS device. In our SUV, the angle is perfect. I can see the screen clearly with no glare from the sun. In the sedan, it's angled upwards just enough that the screen is slightly washed out by the sun. Not terrible enough to return this but annoying.

The back of the magnet mounts have a thin slit and a thick slit to accomodate different size vents. Pkg comes with 4 metal plates (2 small circles and 2 big rectangles). The rectangles are great for flatback phones such as the iPhone. My LG G4 has a curved back so I use the small circle. The rectangle is just big enough that it causes my phone case to not fit snugly. The metal plates have adhesive on the back but I don't use it. The plates stay put between the case and phone. This way I can swap it out when I get a new phone. To fix the angled issue mentioned above, I eventually moved the metal plate down and to the side (instead of centered on the phone's back) and this changed the angle enough to work for me. Good thing I didn't use the adhesive, right?

I've been using an air vent phone mount for the past year or so. I always had some kind of difficulties putting my phone into it. About half the time, it would take more than one attempt to get it in the mount. So I got in habit of only putting it there for road trips when I was using my phone as a GPS. This magnetic device is so much easier to use! I put my phone on it just about every time I am in the car. Since it's in the vent and I am currently running my AC all the time, my phone is always nice and chilled when I remove it. I figure that's much better than it being warm as it can be on occasion. The mount was easy to install. This comes with two, so I gave one to my husband for his car, too. It also comes with 4 adhesive metal plates, too. I didn't realize that, so I had purchased a set separately. I just inserted one of the plates inside my phone case. My husband's phone case is thicker, so he used the adhesive strip and stuck it to the back of his phone case. I've ordered another mount for my teenage son, too.

What a great product! This is working so well that my kids asked me to order another 2 pack set for them. I sandwiched 1 magnet between my cell phone and the phone case without using the adhesive backing on the magnet. I then adhered the second magnet from this set onto the back of my Garmin GPS unit. After popping the rubberized "clamp" onto my car vent, I tested the strength of hold between the cell phone/GPS when put on the vent unit. Wow! Not only was the hold nice and strong but the vent unit doesn't fall out of the vent with my devices attached while I'm cruising around.

Great product. It works as expected. It installed easily onto the vents in both of my vehicles. The part that attaches to the vents has two different sized slots for vents of varied thickness.
The magnet is strong. However, the metal plate works best when it is on the outside of the case. If the plate was inside the case the magnet would not be strong enough to hold my NOTE 5 in place. That being said with the plate on the outside I have to slide the phone off the magnet rather than pull; otherwise the whole device pulls out of the vents.
Not a huge deal but it does take some adjustment.

Holds iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 plus securely to the car AC vent. In the two months that we have had it, the phone has not once fallen off. I never knew I needed these until I got them. The mount makes it easier to see incoming calls and read directions while driving. I find myself using Siri a lot more to make reminders as I drive. You will not be disappointed. The magnetic surface also holds the charging lightning cable when I leave the car.

Magnet works fine. Holds phone well. However, the Mount itself does not stay put in the air vent. Maybe it just doesn't work for Subaru's. I've tried several different ways to get it to stay, but it keeps falling out. It's like the rubber holding it into the vent is just too soft. May work for other vehicles, just not mine.

My old phone holders all had the same issue, on hot days they fell off as the suction cup expand.. this magnetic hold is amazing, have a very discrete design, it is very small but strong, it can hold my phone without issues even on bumpy roads, the only inconvenience I found, some cars have their vents in difficult angles, which causes the phone to be at bad position to use if your are trying to follow the GPS, luckily for me the vents on my car are not too inclined so works perfect for me

I have bought the WizGear mounts for dashboards and given them to friends. I had problems with the adhesive on my Prius dashboard due to the curvature. I bought this one after seeing similar in Europe on air vents in a Citroen.

These are perfect for Prius. The driver's right hand is within a couple of inches of the screen. This is perfect for dealing with WAZE. The A/C vent keeps the back of the phone cool, reducing opportunity for overheating and shutdown of the phone. You are able to pull this out of the car and take to a rental car without a problem. You have 2 magnet mounts and good number of metal plates - especially if you use a plastic case for your phone (I use iPhone 7+).

Perhaps there are other magnetic mounts that work as well, I only know that these work reliably and seem a very good value.

Holds my Samsung Galaxy 6 in place! My husband has an Iphone and it works great as well. I simply put the magnet between my cover and phone without the tape that is supplied and stays in place and is very secure. I love that my phone is not in my lap when I need to look up directions or fumbling around in the passenger seat. It can now be in a nice visible angle when talking hands free. This is wonderful and super inexpensive! I am giving these as Christmas Gifts! What a nifty little gadget. Thank you Amazon for suggesting it!
