Keely Granger has spent her life in Comfort Crossing. She had dreams of being a journalist and traveling all over the world with her friend Hunt Robichaux. However, life got in the way and her sense of guilt and responsibility kept her in The Magic Café running it for the family. However, her Mother still kept the final say in everything that went on there. Keely wanted to refurbish and expand the building; but her Mother wouldn’t provide the finances. Keely’s sister Kate had been in an accident which left her in a wheel chair. She spent her days at home with Mother.
Hunt Robichaux was the photographer friend of Keely’s but he had been all over the world chasing his dreams. However, he was now back in Comfort Crossing to help his recently widowed sister and his nephews. He is having problems handling the boys and just knows that this will end in disaster as has anything he had taken the responsibility of.
As they get to know each other again, Keely and Hunt find things are not always smooth. Just as they want to break out, so does Kate. The weather even wants to break out. The book is very good and keeps your interest
If I sat down for a bit of fun reading it wasn't about to happen. There were words left unsaid, thoughts not to be expressed, and truths not to be admitted or told. Bitterness, anger, unrequited love all seething and festering. Gruges long held, revenge waiting to be administered like the tornado destroying everything in it's path.
There is redemption in truth, love, and a happy ending. Isn't that the formula for a cozy? No spoiler here.
