These Large Game Sleds are the best thing ever invented! They are light weight and easily carried when hunting and dragging large game back to the truck. Used it to drag a 400 pound bear a half a mile through the woods with barely breaking a sweat. They shipped them fast and were well packaged. I have given one to every hunter in the family. I put a small piece of PVC pipe on the handle rope for a more comfortable grip when dragging.

This sled is well worth the price. After spotting a herd of Elk in the Mountains of UT and hiking in about 1 mile to get a closer shot, I successfully hit the largest female in the herd. As we celebrated the shot (350YD Neck Shot) my buddy said "you hike up and I'll point you in the right direction." I was like, what? do you mean I have to go up and get it?

Well that hike up the steep mountain took a while. After dressing her my buddy said that he would go back to camp for help but that I should start hiking her down the mountain and through the canyon to the road. Pulling 350 pounds of meat, fat, and bone through brush, over logs, and rocks was extremely painful and time consuming. After about 5 hours I grew concerned that my buddy hadn't returned, thinking that the road was only about a short walk from where I was I hiked down to see if he made it out and back ok. It was this point when I realized that I still had about 1 mile left to get my Elk out of the canyon.

As I arrived to the road my buddy showed up. He had taken our campsite down and packed away all our stuff a task that I was dreaded having to do after pulling the Elk out. Unfortunately our buddies that would have helped, had already left camp.

This was the time when my buddy asked me if I wanted to use his brother's Game Sled with the caution that it will most likely get destroyed in the rocks coming down the canyon. But he insisted that it would make getting the Elk out much easier. I didn't believe him but agreed. We hiked up, tied her up and as soon as I started pulling, it felt great as she glided down the canyon. When we finally made it down to the truck, as my buddy had warned, the sled was shredded by the rocks.

Love this sled and it is a must specially for those hunters going out on long hike to get to their game. I'm on my second one, the first one finally got a hole after dragging a couple of my son's deer for two years. We dragged game with this sled for probably a 1/4 mile before it eventually tore a hole. Is it worth it, hell yes! Even my 12 year old son can help drag his game because of this sled(flat and downhill).

It's even better in the snow for me.

Hauled out a deer, then a whole spike elk the next day over some brush and grass for 1 mile. Some rocks finally did the sled in with the elk. Sidehill was hard to keep it uphill. Two of us had to pull the elk of course, need to half an elk if there's much uphill or a larger bull. (1) Dress animal. (2) Unroll sled and roll animal onto it with head/ neck at the front where the sled curls up- helps you go over brush, etc. (3) Thread the thin string provided (I used paracord instead)through all the grommets to secure animal. (4) Run thicker shorter yellow rope through front of sled and tie around neck (or if removing head, cut slit through first rib [bottom] and tie there; for elk, tie two ropes there, one longer so you can walk single file). Also, this thing will slide downhill on grass if steep enough. I rode the deer down the last 15 feet to the truck. Pulling the elk, I had to run ahead of it to steer, then finally jump out of the way and let her go. Everyone at camp was impressed and want to get one too. We've used a deer cart, which is even better it you have a wide trial, but you have to go get your cart. I've hauled in packs which is ok but more trips. Tried snow sleds & discs, but they seemed to flip over more and again, can't really pack in. The deer sleigher is 3' wide, so it needs to go vertical in/ next to a pack, weighs next to nothing, just bulky, but saves your bacon once you've dropped your animal. I've hiked out to get the game cart before and that takes a lot of time and energy, 2 things you run out of hauling game out. For $35 give it a shot. Should handle 3-6 deer on moderate surfaces and/or one elk if there are any rocks involved (there always are). Happy hunting (tolerable dragging)!

I hunt in slightly rocky and rolling high terrain in the Piedmont region, so a cart for me would have been overkill, but needed something more substantial than a drag line. This fit the bill. Prefer it over more rigid sleds as you can roll this up and attach it to a back pack and hump it in and out with easy. Had a chance to use this product within the first days and was able to drag a 200 lb white tail out with no snags and with comfort. Have a few fused vertebrae myself and it took all the strain off my lower back. Simplify your life and get one of these.

Have looked at several types of products like this and there is no question this is the one to get. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and I was especially impressed with the durability of the plastic. It is very heavy duty. It'll drag a lot of deer.
