I remember getting my hands on this & every other maiden release @the time around 81 or 82 I'd say.I loved it then and still do! It shows an early maiden live release I believe it was their 1st live one,,...of course japan is well known for their love of heavy metal & this one is just another fine example.I always enjoyed Paul D'anno's vocals a lot.he more than carried his weight on maiden japan & I also highly recommend getting his other releases with maiden their self titled & killers ......enjoy maiden japan & always play it loud,,.play it heavy!!!!!!!!!

"I want you to sing for me"......

I recently purchased an Audio Technica USB Turntable, and as any dedicated Heavy Metal fan would do, I broke out my old vinyls and started converting them to MP3 files. This Iron Maiden - Maiden Japan vinyl was one of them. I dutifully purchased this record in the early 80's when it originally came out. I have taken great care of my vinyl collection and this record sounds great even today. Since I listened to the record as I was creating the MP3 files I figure I might as well put up a review on Amazon.

Maiden Japan is an Extended Play consisting of 5 live songs from the Paul Di'Anno vocalist era of Iron Maiden. It was recorded at a concert in Japan in 1981 and I believe the record was released the same year. The songs are: Running Free, Remember Tomorrow, Wrathchild, Killers, and Innocent Exile. The cover of the record is brilliant, the iconic image of "Eddie" under the stage lights and in the fog holding a samurai sword. Suitable for hanging as album art in your man-cave!

In the early days Iron Maiden effectively crafted their music to include both punk and heavy metal elements and influences. Maiden Japan captures the early Iron Maiden vibe very well in this recording as it presents the live raw energy and sound of the band. This is an important release in the Iron Maiden catalog as the first official Live recordings of those early songs. The songs sound great and are well mixed. I enjoy listening to these now on my computer, tablet, and mobile devices.

I highly recommend obtaining this record if you are fan of early Iron Maiden or a fan of the 80's Heavy Metal revolution.

Most rockin' Iron Maiden record. This is one of those records that MUST be listened to on vinyl or cassette. Not sure if they even make it on CD. A MUST for any Maiden fan and a great intro to the early days/Paul DiAno era.
