Great music, good pressing. Average surface noise. Compared to the CD, which I also own, this Blue Note 75th Anniversary LP version sounds better--more dynamic range, warmer and more open. It's definitely not audiophile sound quality, but very good considering it's under $20. Quality is consistent with other titles in the 75th Anniversary vinyl reissue series.

Very good vinyl press. Have almost worn this out on two different turntables.

If you're a Miles Davis fan you'll dig this album. It features the rhythm section of Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter
and the one and only Tony Williams. Features Freddie Hubbard and George Coleman. Great tunes and the
musicianship is stellar. If you like straight ahead jazz, buy this album.

Great music. Terrific band. Solid vinyl pressing on the great blue note label. I have passed off (wrongly)HH because of his 1980's foray into electro music but this stuff is stellar. The band , for the most part, is the same band that miles Davis used in the early to mid 60's. A nice melding of premium musicians

Of course when reviewing anything especially music, it can get quite subjective. But Maiden Voyage is an essential album in any respectable Jazz collection. One has to appreciate its historical significance.

For me, the track-Maiden Voyage is one of the most beautiful and stirring jazz numbers I've ever heard; it's comparable to some of the great
classics from Bach, Beethoven; it's on the same level as Coltrane's My Favorite Things, with McCoy Tyner on piano.

A great CD, but the recording quality is not as good as I expected. Not up there with Miles's Kind of Blue or Brubeck's Time Out (or any Keith Jarrett Trio CDs) as far as fidelity goes. But great music.

All of musical genius and highly skilled craftsmen in their art bring to us the "jazz listeners ear candy". Transporting and sublime are the feeble words that can describe the purity of this recording. I always come back to this modal masterpiece!

Buy it for the title track, keep it for the rest.
