Owen comes across as a very weak character. He is a man with a grown son and allows his father to insult and humiliate them at every turn. This is not a recent development . He has always been the victim of a father he could never please and now his son who he loves is bullied too. Why hasn't he left. Jack is a horror show of a parent.
When there is an accident and a wheel breaks on the wagon Jack screams and carries on that this is Audrey's fault. Owen defends her but let's her go off by herself into the wilds of Montana to get help. Sorry. He should have went. She had already showed them she could handle the stupid cows. Anything could have happened to her.
Maybe in book thee they turn into the Cartwright's of Ponderosa fame but I'm not seeing it. This is the most dysfunctional group of people I have ever seen. They need to separate and go their own way. The men don't even like each other.
Several past events mentioned. So looks like reading book 1 is a must. In this book they've been together for a while. So you miss how they took to each other in the beginning. Everyone is already in love
Oh and already found a few mistakes in 1st chapter. Ex: Audrey cut her Philly. It's small things like that.
I am not continuing. I've missed too much and am not spending $2.99 on an author I'm unsure about ( and uncertain reviews ) to catch up on the first bk
others were going to go off and leave her after a few days. Jack is still such a jerk. This story is good writing though. Can't wait to
read the next story.
