After about 15 minutes of my son shouting "STEER IT DAD! STEER IT! YOU'RE GONNA WRECK!", and me shouting "I'M TRYING!!! LEAVE ME ALONE! STOP PUSHING!", and despite my driving skills, the car hit a wall and a wheel broke off.
There was kind of a moment of silence, then I handed my son the remote and told him merry Christmas.
Really, though... if I'm going to build an RC car that will go Mach 1, and I'm going to design it so that the wheels act as bumpers, then I'm going to attach the wheels with something better than brittle plastic.
My only complaint is a major design flaw - the front control arm is a small piece of plastic that WILL BREAK if you run into something solid at full speed (e.g.- a wall corner, as my son did on Christmas Day). I was able to fix it by epoxying a small piece of metal to the two sides, but it's very obvious that this is a weak point on the car, and should have been designed much tougher.
We received the second one and we examined it before we even used it. It had the same problem as the first one so we didn't even try it and sent it back for a refund.
The car did work (which is why I gave it 3 instead of 2 stars) and would have been really fun but we found it frustrating to never be able to go straight. I had bought a smaller car for my daughter and we tried to race the cars for example but we couldn't really race it because of this problem.
If we didn't care about it going straight, it would have been ok (even fun) especially to use in the yard or park. It seemed to be able to go through grass pretty well too making it fun to use both on and off road.
However, if you are looking for a car that can go through grass, go on road AND drive straight, then I would look for another product.

Whilst it doesn't have turn on a penny steering, it certainly lives up to its name in the speed stakes (almost 20kph top speed).
Its great fun on grass or in slightly damp conditions as it has so much torque it wheel spins and drifts in corners. This isn't a high precision racing car, it's very much a speeding round the garden\common fun off roader.
I'd highly recommend this for kids and kids at heart!
ricordatevi che NON è 4wd.. ma solo 2wd.. cmq va bene .. consiglio acquisto
