Unlike the majority it seems, I actually prefer blacks so far, even for 'clouding'. I don't touch type quite that well yet (never have really), I still have to look down sometimes and my pinkys don't cooperate, but I don't bottom out much anymore with this board and the keys just seem easier to find when I'm hauling ass, probably because they are so crisp (no mushiness here, plus keycaps have very little wobble at all). It's much more comfortable to use than the lologitech/saitek rubber domes I was used to. I turn wrenches for a living and don't have the most delicate touch, so I actually like the weight of linear blacks. Reds were a bit too light for me, the so called 'cloud of boobs' was more like a thin vapor. Don't let reviews about how stiff blacks are scare you off, they're still lighter, crisper, and -smoother- than any rubber dome I have ever had.
If your touch is a bit heavy like me, or you game much and want a very fast/responsive switch, definitely give blacks a try. If you're looking for goofy little lcds, 'pretty' back-lights, and dedicated web/media/macro/jerkmeoff/fetchmeabeer keys (AHK can easily replace those btw) then go ahead and pay the man for a new "G-whatever" every year or two. Filco doesn't make those, but they do make a damn fine mechanical keyboard that's built like a tank and just might outlast your desk.
