Product Description
The Ten-Keyless version of the Majestouch. This is the 87 key version of Majestouch (the Majestouch without the number pad). With this compact keyboard, you can save space while having the same layout, and the same tactile feel as the existing Majestouch series. You can customize your saved space by placing the 'Ten Key Keypad' (sold separately, see below) on your left side or right side, when you feel the need. True N-key rollover. The functionality by which all the typed keys are recognized on the PC, even when many keys are typed simultaneously. All the keys typed simultaneously are recognized on the PS/2 port (limited to 6 keys typed simultaneously for the USB due to the specifications of USB). Completely dedicated electronic circuitry, a diode is soldered on the PCB for every key switch to prevent 'counter currency'. Solid and stylish. The rigid case construction gives a sure and comfortable typing experience with a specially designed font, for better visibility and a stylish and long lasting appearance. An excellent feel with the 'brown' MX tactile feel key switch. The Cherry MX 'brown' key switch, gives a tactile feel without the audible click of the 'blue' switch, it has a long key stroke of 4mm with the actuation point (key press) at 2mm. Easy, fast and stress-free typing, the famous features of Cherry MX tactile feel.

I've owned the 104-key version of this keyboard (FKBN104M/EB - includes the numeric pad) for nearly two years now. It is easily the finest keyboard I have ever owned. Mechanically and electrically, it is essentially identical to the DAS mechanical keyboard -- both are available with N-key rollover and have Cherry mechanical keys (brown, blue, or black). The DAS adds a 2-socket USB 2.0 hub and has a slightly larger frame (approximately 1 inch larger in both length and width). Plus, the DAS has a shiny, piano black finish (beautiful, but a major dust and fingerprint magnet). I prefer the smaller, matte-finish frame of the Filco Majestouch.
As proof of my faith in the Filco Majestouch, I've just purchased this 10-keyless model (FKBN87M/EB - lacks the numeric pad) to toss in my suitcase when traveling. And, as soon as its bigger brother comes back in stock, I plan to order two more of the 104-key version like my original -- a second for the office and one for home use.
The Cherry "Brown" mechanical switch is the most ergonomic and tactile of the various models -- probably best for serious typists. While not a true "buckling spring" design, its action is reminiscent of the the old IBM Selectric typewriters. The Cherry "Blue" is similar but has a very distinct mechanical click -- too noisy when others are working in close proximity. The Cherry "Black" and "Red" mechanical switches require more finger pressure and are linear in their action -- a better choice for gamers.
Was gonna buy this from keyboardco directly but my buddy saw it on here and I snatched it up. After trying my buddies zowie with the brown switches I had to have it ;-)
People say the black switches are the best for gaming but brown is becoming more and more popular plus they give you an all around better experience for typing/gaming.
After waiting a long time to choose a mechanical keyboard I did my research and as many people know Filco is at the top of the list for build quality. If your gonna drop about $150 on a keyboard might as well get the best right? Thank you amazon for bringing these stateside because they were damn near impossible to find after elitekeyboards stopped selling them.
I noticed then tenkeyless version didn't last long I really like it for gaming because I can have my mouse in such a better position.
First mx mechanical keyboard ( I have an old rt101+)
Most likely will also purchase the full size version for work ( thats how much I love this keyboard)
Additional info: The keyboard is plugged directly into the USB port. I double-checked the Windows repeat rate and that was not the problem. The original keyboard, a spare Logitech keyboard, and an ASK-6600C all worked perfectly. It was definitely the Filco keyboards that were the problem. Maybe I was getting keyboards from a bad batch. The biggest problem was the seller (elitekeyboards.com). I ended up using the ASK-6600C (Alps switches) and I'm much happier with it, but I ended up with a very expensive Filco brand paperweight.

I like the tactile feedback, the sound is great, cherry brown switches are great for fast typing.
What I don't like about it, it doesn't let me remap any keys physically (like DIP switches in Realforce or HHKB),
I would like to remap capslock to control and have to do it in software.
KVM(RATOC REX-230XDA)
