Pretty fun game to play, but little things take away from gameplay
on August 16, 2012
Major League Baseball 2K12 is a pretty fun game, especially if you like baseball. However several things in the game take away some of the fun and gameplay. For starters, the rosters are not updated. Except for free agents that signed in the first couple days of free agency 2012, like Jose Reyes and Jonathan Papelbon, none of the big name free agents like Albert Pujols and Prince Fielder are signed. I spent two hours assigning players to their respective teams. Another thing is that the rosters are such a pain to update. With the game having no online capabilities, you must manually update the rosters. There are also so many things that the computer corrects for you if you do not have things perfect on the roster. Another thing that takes away from the gameplay is that some of the plays that the computer makes on defense are very unrealistic. I was playing one game and the center fielder made 5 diving or wall-climbing catches in a row. That does not happen that often in real life. Another thing is that the graphics are absolutely awful. I would expect a Wii game to not have the best graphics, but the graphics look like the graphics on the original Playstation. The faces and uniforms look almost nothing like their real life counterparts. Overall, the game is fun to play, but little things take away some of the fun.
