Nice basic overview of tolerance analysis, but it is not an in depth exploration of the subject. Those who want to explore the topic in great detail should look elsewhere. Also a few of the characters in my Kindle edition did not render properly, making a few equations unreadable.

Good publication for initial approach to handling gap analysis but understandably some examples needed more expansion to flush out some questions that inevitably came up.

Maybe because all the rest of the tolerance analysis books are really expensive, they thought they should charge a lot for a thin, topical book on the subject. It's a good overview but worth maybe $15-20 tops.

This small short book that should really be characterizes a booklet or pamphlet. Content is generalized, illustrations are vague. Not worth 35 dollars, maybe 10.

"Make it Fit" is an excellent introduction to the discipline of tolerance analysis. This is an appropriate book for a Mechanical Engineering college student, intern, recent grad, and drafter. I've been doing tolerance analyses for over 7 years and even learned a few tricks. As the author states, this is not a book to teach you GD&T or ANSI Y14.5. This book should be viewed as a way to take some basic knowledge of GD&T/Y14.5 and apply it to make real parts work in the real world. I had to learn basic tolerance analysis through trial and error. This formulaic approach would have saved me a lot of time, and made my parts better as well.

This book provides a good explanation of what a tolerance analysis is and its uses. It walks you through an entire analysis with an explanation of different possible outcomes.

This is a great guide for anyone starting work in mechanical machine design. It is concise and direct in its delivery of the material - you can tell an engineer wrote it :)

I would also recommend this book to someone without a mechanical engineering background, who maybe working or managing a production line and wants a general understanding of assembly failures, as the material is presented in an easy to understand format with an explanation of any subject related terminology.

This book is a quick read and worth it for anyone who wants a thorough overview of tolerance analysis.

This is an excellent introduction and review to the world of tolerance analyses, and would have been very helpful to prepare for the first analysis I did in my first job. Jason does an excellent job of breaking down why you need to perform tolerance analyses, the pros and cons of using different methodology, factors to be considered in choosing what method to use, a basic understanding of why different software gives the result it gives, and excellent examples to follow for when you perform your own. It can be read in an afternoon, but the concepts are solid enough that it belongs in the office as a desk reference for review if you don't perform analyses regularly. Great book.
