Editorial Reviews

Review

“With an easy style and likable characters, the story flows quickly, and readers familiar with new adult romances will appreciate Erickson’s willingness to abandon the genre’s cliches.” (Publishers Weekly)

“Steamy, poignant, and addicting...you won’t want to put it down!” (Jen McLaughlin, New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author)

About the Author

Megan Erickson grew up in a family that averages 5’5” on a good day and started writing to create characters who could reach the top kitchen shelf.

She’s got a couple of tattoos, has a thing for gladiators, and has been called a crazy cat lady. After working as a journalist for years, she decided she liked creating her own endings better and switched back to fiction.

She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, two kids, and two cats. And no, she still can’t reach the stupid top shelf.

I am pleased to report that I really enjoyed this book! A trilogy ender can be such a scary thing to read, but Megan didn't let us down. If you want some comparisons I'm going to call it Megan + JLA's STAY WITH ME + a hint of Steph Perkins' ISLA AND THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

Crazy, right?

I love this one different than the other two books. A story about people who have been in love is different than a story where people fight their way to love.Nevertheless, I was excited to see more of Cam and to meet the girl he love/s/d, and I wasn't disappointed. All I will say is that Cam is a ridiculously nice guy.

I could have used more Max ;)

Megan Erickson closes out her Bowler University series with the sexiest, most realistic, and emotional book yet. Make It Last isn’t just about second chances, it’s about finding your own will, your own strength, and the person you want to be.

Cam and Tate are two extremely amazing people. They’ve done such selfless acts for the people they love even if it costs themselves their own happiness. The choices may not have been easy but it may have been the right one, even if it didn’t feel like it at the time. They also know they’ve made mistakes and take the time to learn from them, something I feel is really missing in a lot of NA. Yes, people learn, and grow, but this just feels different. Megan wrote them to see their errors as they were unfolding, essentially keeping it realistic. There are so many times we know the mistakes we are making as we make them and try to fix them, to make them right.

Make It Last is definitely the sexiest book of the series. The chemistry between Cam and Tate is so powerful, so palpable, it’s easy for you to lose yourself in their heat. But again, it just feels so real. They have known each other for so long that they know what the other likes, what the other wants. It’s lovely to read.

I really enjoyed seeing the characters and couples from the previous books makes appearances too. From Max and Lea visiting Cam to all of them meeting for fun. They were probably some of my favorite scenes. Seeing how everyone is moving on with their lives and continuing their relationships and their HEAs.

Make It Last definitely had its fair share of head-banging moments but without them it wouldn’t be the book I love so much. Cam and Tate will always have a special place in my heart.

MAKE IT LAST is a real and romantic and incredibly emotional read, with an undeniably sexy male protagonist and a beautiful but headstrong female main whose pull toward each other is positively magnetic. Their chemistry sizzles, the challenges they face are authentic and relatable, their road to a happily ever after is full of secrets, setbacks, indecision and heartbreak.

Cam Ruiz and Tate Ellison had the kind of love that should have been forever. But one decision changed everything and the future they dreamed up for themselves in the virtual world of Utope became nothing more than a distant and painful memory. Or at least it had been.

When Cam is forced to return to his hometown of Paradise to take care of his mother, he never thought he’d run into Tate. He certainly never thought he would still feel something for her. Or that their lives would once again become intertwined. Not after she broke his heart.

But a love as epic as theirs doesn’t die easily. And a man like Cam doesn’t give up, even if it seems as if the universe is trying to keep them apart. Not unless the girl he’s fighting for isn’t willing to fight as hard as he is or believe that they have what it takes to make it last.

In her story, told in alternating points of view, Author Megan Erickson has given readers two characters that they will like and grow to love, be frustrated with, relate to, understand, and empathize with. She created a story with relationships and situations that feel believable and true-to-life, that are both heartwarming and heartrending. She puts readers on an emotional roller-coaster as Tate and Cam try to find a way to make things work. And she keeps them hooked with a few scalding hot and incredibly sexy moments between these two immensely appealing characters.

Last year, I read Make It Count and Make It Right nearly back-to-back. I had fallen hard for the characters that Megan Erickson brought to life in both novels, and the same is true of Make It Last, where readers follow Cam Ruiz as he returns to his hometown and finds himself unexpectedly reunited with the ex-girlfriend who broke his heart, Tate Ellison. Oh man, y’all, I really, really adored Cam. He’s such a wonderful guy, kind, thoughtful and always willing to lend a hand. Readers are treated to seeing a more vulnerable side to Cam, particularly when it comes two of the most important women in his life – his mother and Tate. Tate, oh Tate. I wanted to stay angry with her, but as her situation in life is laid bare, it’s impossible to do so. In fact, it’s hard not to feel a combination of pity (at the difficulty of it all) and admiration (for how she does her best to handle it on her own) for her. Together, these two confront the past, work things out in the present and dream about the future – and it’s a treat. I’m a sucker for a good first love story (and a return to an old flame story), and Cam & Tate share a particularly sweet relationship. Together with great supporting characters and amazing cameos from old favorites (!!!!!), Make It Last was definitely wonderful. If you haven’t yet indulged in the Bowler University series, consider this a PSA to do so.
