Matthews begins by describing how he attempted to promote his books in the past by throwing some money at it and waiting for the returns to roll in. As with most authors, he found that this is not the path to riches but rather to rags. He had to find a different way.
His approach is to invest in "sweat equity" and to take advantage of the free or low cost tools and resources available on the internet.
Major chapters include: Social Media; Creating Your Blog Site; Cover Design; Formatting and Uploading for Smashwords, Amazon and other Retailers; Formatting for Your Sites, Making Your own Conversions; Creating Your Website; SEO (Search Engine Optimization); Preparing Your Website for Ebook Sales; Selling Your Ebook from Your Websites; PR (Public Relations).
In the vast majority of cases, Matthews provides sufficient information and detail for you to implement his approach. In the few instances where the implementation is more complicated, he provides an overview and then directs you to an on-line reference for more detail.
Certainly a book worth reading.
Jason's book is easy to read, and has step by step directions regarding the creation and publishing of your own e-book. His book will literally save you thousands of dollars of potentially wasted time and costs incurred trying to self-publish your own material.
The book is full of easy to implement methods for creating websites, blogs, and includes easy methods to establish a network of potential readers/buyers!
If you are interested in writing & publishing your own books, I suggest you buy Jason's book first. It will certainly help you, and investment is very fair compared to the information he provides.

Jason learned every free trick on the internet, and lists them all. The free information contained in this book saved me hundreds of dollars, and more importantly, hundreds of hours of my time. It is the real deal. If you have ever said "If it's free, it's for me. " You should own this book.

brimming with useful information. It is a comprehensive read for both, the
novice who is toying with the idea of creating or marketing an ebook and the
more advanced reader who has already done some research himself. As I'm at
the cusp of publishing a novel myself, it fell in my hands (onto
my laptop) at the right time.
It deals with every aspect of making and marketing a book, from its beginnings in whatever format you created it to its end result in the appropriate format, i.e. different sites that deal with ebooks (for sale or for free) have different requirements.
A big part of the book deals with Social Networking Sites and related
issues as that's likely where you are going to post information about your
upcoming book or the one you have just published.
As a newbie on the given exemplary sites - social media- (Facebook,
Twitter,Linked-in) etc, I found the concise description of how they work and how

at the first attempt. It showed me a hitherto unexplored way of how to
establish my credentials as dating guru. (Aha! Yes,my book is on dating).
