Rick Sammon’s 43rd book, How to Make Money While You Are Sleeping: A Photographer’s Guide to Passive Income and Other Savvy Business Strategies, was inspired by this quote from Warren Buffett: “If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.”
Another quote that inspired Rick to produce this book is one from his dad, Robert M. Sammon, Sr.: “It takes a lot of peanuts to feed an elephant.” In other words, small amounts of money can certainly add up.
On the pages of How to Make Money While You Are Sleeping, Rick “pulls back the curtain” and shares the secrets of success that he and his wife Susan have used to run their successful photography business, and to generate passive income for more than 30 years – during which they photographed in more than 100 countries.
To complement his proven business philosophies, some of which were gained while he was a vice president at a Madison Avenue advertising and public relations agency (1980 – 1990), Rick assembled a team of all-star photo coaches that reads like a Who’s Who? list from the world of professional photography.
While reading How to Make Money While You Are Sleeping, you will find many important dos and don’ts for generating passive income.
Through specific examples, you will learn how the expression, “The harder you work, the luckier you become,” applies to generating passive income. Rephrasing that expression for his book, Rick says, “The more time you put into generating passive income while you are awake, the more income you will generate while you are sleeping.”
In addition to the dos of generating passive income, Rick also shares two important don’ts: 1) don’t give up your day job to generate passive income…at least not yet; and 2) don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Kiyosaki: “It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for.”
