As always, the character development is deep and well done. I feel like I've known Lucy since she was a kid and now, it's time for her wedding. Bravo to Allison Brennan for making strong characters who still have weaknesses, vulnerabilities and evidence of trauma rather than unrealistic superheroes. This may have been my favorite in the series yet. Time to wait again for the next book and wish that I were a Rogen or Kincaid (or Kincaid-Rogen).
If there was one thing that disappointed me, it was that Lucy and Sean are together on the fist couple of pages and then are not together again until the end.
It was very interesting though (except a couple of times with the side stories) And I love that Lucy and Sean finally get married. Can't wait for the next one.
a hard story to tell no matter how great a writer you are and Brennan is a great storyteller. There are not many laughs in this book, but there are quite a few thought provoking moments. What it all comes down to is family, whether you want it to or not.
This is the 12th book in a series. I wouldn't recommend reading it without reading the previous books. There are too many characters and too much back story for a new reader to follow. The plot in this book is complicated. There are multiple things going on with a lot of characters to keep track of. I enjoyed the book, but I did find myself having to stop and remember how the characters connected to each other, and I have read the previous books. That is the reason I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. This was definitely not my favorite book in the series but I will continue to read the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
