Yes your ideas matter, but how do you make them matter to me? - Well that's what this book is about. It's chock-full of practical tips and examples.
I still read it every once in a while (yes, I'm getting my money's worth)
What goes into a good story? The secrets and the step-by-step techniques are covered in this book. Easy to read, and hard to put down as this book will keep you glued to what secrets it reveals on the very next page.
You can start using the tools in this book to create more colorful stories and create ones with real purpose. Ideal for anyone who has to deliver speeches and PowerPoint presentations.
For the same price as a cup of coffee and its quick hit, you can buy this book and give yourself a ongoing set of prompts and questions and measures to use to challenge yourself to improve your business. You can also use it to provide meeting agendas or discussion points or even briefs for service providers related to your brand, positioning, values, value propositions and customer connections. Buy your business friends this book instead of that next cup of coffee!
Some of the cleverly worded advice reminded me of Ben Franklin's bits of wisdom from Poor Richard's Almanac, but without Ben's pragmatic context.
A better read for entrepreneur in the midst of trying to define their brand and value proposition.
From the onset, this hand guide is full of poignant, powerful, applicable advice with actionable edge and a naturally motivating tone, Jiwa offers dozens and dozens of sharp insights for the modern entrepreneur, digital solopreneur, blogger, or anyone who is interesting in making an idea matter: for starting a business, developing a brand, or simply leaving behind a positive and memorable legacy.
Every page is valuable, and, honestly, the price for which you'd ultimately pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for in one-on-one consulting or coaching sessions. Every insight is directly applicable to the task at hand: what makes an idea matter? Why does making our ideas matter... actually matter to *me* in today's changing world? Where do I start when developing a brand or marketing an idea?
Bernadette's style is no-fluff, invitational and very effective. If you're familiar with Seth Godin or Steven Pressfield's sharp styles and directly-to-the-point insights, you'll love this book and immediately begin to know how to make YOUR idea matter!
This is valuable information. My problem with Make Your Idea Matter is that it makes that point over and over and over again. The checklists and the questions within them are often redundant.
Make Your Idea Matter is a good business book. With tighter editing, it could have been a great business book.
