This helped me get a better idea of how to re brand my business with a vision in mind
Unfortunately, for a book about branding yourself, there is a huge deduction of creditability when you cannot go more than 2 pages without stumbling upon a typo or grammatical error. The tone of the book is also somewhat "cool teacher trying to speak the kids' lingo," which makes some of the excerpts feel dated and oddly uncomfortable. I do understand the position that she was trying to take, it just felt forced and not authentic to me.
I applaud Emmelie for taking a stab at trying to help others understand the importance personal branding, while also giving them the confidence to go forth and make waves. I wish that I could give this planner more stars, but the many typos were a first and lasting impression. However, if you are a millennial struggling to find your own place in the world of millennial superstars and have no clue what branding is, this planner is worth picking up (if you’re able to ignore the blatant errors.)
It provided enough space to make mistakes, cross out and rethink (which is what business is all about) and allowed me to see the common thread in my subconscious that helped shaped why I began my business in the first place.
It's well written, and doesn't feel as if you're working or doing a chore. It feels more like you're discovering yourself and your passion.
Thank you Emmelie!
I should've bought this book a while back, instead I was googling how to's on branding and finding your target audience. Save your energy and buy her book, folks. Great work, Emmelie!
