"Making Babies is an excellent, well-organized guide on how to get pregnant naturally. It combines the best of both Western and Chinese methods."-
"Ask a fancy reproductive endocrinologist about acupuncture and you're likely to hear, 'If it relaxes you, it's fine with me.' In other words, the official position of the high-tech fertility folks on traditional fertility medicine amounts to benign ignorance. Making Babies will change that. Here's proof that traditional and modern methods work, and not only that: they work better together. This is very good news for mothers, fathers, and babies."-Nina Planck, author of Real Food for Mother and Baby: The Fertility Diet, Eating for Two, and Baby's First Foods.
"Making Babies is a must read for any woman who wants to become pregnant. Its unique, holistic approach to conception encompasses traditional Western and Eastern medicine, proven alternatives, and lifestyle modifications. It offers women (and couples) solid medical information and advice that can help them increase their chances of conception, often in the quickest, most cost-effective, and least invasive manner."-Joan Liebmann-Smith, Ph.D., coauthor of The Unofficial Guide to Getting Pregnant and Body Signs: How to Be Your Own Diagnostic Detective
"Filled with invaluable guidance from two seasoned, brilliant clinicians, Making Babies can speed up the arrival of your child without depleting your ovarian reserve or your bank account. It might even save your life."-Julia Indichova, author of Inconceivable
"Making Babies is a marriage made in heaven. The best of western medicine combined with the yin-yang approach of the east. The end result? Restored fertility and vibrant health. Lovely."-Christiane Northrup, M.D., author of Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom

We tried for a second baby at the beginning of this year, again using IVF. This time it failed, and the doctor had no real explanation why. At that point, I decided to look for alternative advice before doing another IVF and that's when I found the Making Babies program. I fully intended to use the program to prepare my body for another IVF in 6-9 months. Imagine my surprise when I was pregnant at the end of three months!
I am now 20 weeks (having a girl!) and am recommending the book to everyone I know. It was very easy to understand and follow--and I had never done anything like this before. Following their advice, I felt better than I had in years, and I found that I LOVED doing acupuncture; I have continued it through my entire pregnancy because it has been so beneficial.
The book is at least worth a read--and you might end up saving thousands of dollars in the process. Thank you to Drs. David and Blakeway--you have changed my life!
*I just wanted to add an update: I had a healthy, full-term (a 41-weeker!) baby girl. No complications, no NICU, just a healthy baby and a happy momma. Thank you Making Babies!
I'm really glad I found this book. It was very thorough, informative, and easy to understand. It was a very quick read and even provides an online quiz to make identifying your "fertility type" easier. It's been three months since I purchased it and started following the recommended guidelines for my fertility type (stuck), which meant changing my diet and seeing an acupuncturist. I am not yet pregnant, but I have already had plenty of physical changes to know that this really does work. My body is changing for the better, and I know now that I never would have gotten pregnant through IUI or IVF had I not changed my daily routine. Turns out I was experiencing a perpetual state of gut inflammation and lack of blood flow to the uterus (blood stagnation) due to dairy, sugar, and not enough fruits/vegetables. Western medicine never would have identified this problem.Read more ›
1. There's a chance you could be a combination of two types.
2. This book is not a miracle pill. Don't treat it as such.
3. It may take more than three months to get pregnant, even if you follow everything to the tee.
Due to my type - Stuck and Tired - I immediately went on a lifestyle change - I consume mostly fruits and veggies, drink lots of water, and exercise daily. I massaged my stomach on a nightly basis and took Milk Thistle to help clean out my liver. Doing all of that, with the combination of charting, acupuncture, and a lot of sex, I am currently pregnant with my miracle baby. However, it didn't take three months; it took more like six months.
I'm saying this to be realistic. It was a great informative book and I probably would not have tried acupuncture if the book didn't recommend it specifically for my type. But when one reads this book, they have to be realistic. Some women are fortunate enough to get pregnant within the three-month time-frame while others like me, it took a little longer. It doesn't mean the book is bad or over-hyped; it just means it's not a cure-all for everyone.
I still recommend this book just for the knowledge. I can't say whether this book alone helped me get pregnant but I will say it was an instrumental factor.

I found the book a little confusing, trying to determine my "type" and I would imagine most are a combination of "types". Read morePublished 2 days ago by Erin M.
