Editorial Reviews

Review

"In colorful, fun, engaging formats, these books have found a way to keep your hungry student learning and engaged in his or her education process. Every test comes with discussion and explanation sections, and the book has a style that lends itself more to having a good time rather than beating kids over the head with knowledge."

Parents Express, September 2004

"…a great supplement to your curriculum…"

—Sharon Fooshe and Mary Pride, Practical Homeschooling, July/August 2004

From the reviews:

"These titles for Gr. K-6 will help parents and educators give their children a smart start and keep them up to speed with today's standards-based learning."

The book we purchased was used but good condition with quite a bit of writing in the book. But most was in pencil and we have erasers. So problem solved. But the contents of the book are excellent. They cover all subjects and is a must have in your home school library. It is an excellent supplement to the curriculum we use, which is pretty much just about anything educational , as we do not follow a particular curriculum/package. We prefer to pull from different resources as well as follow common core standards. This book has everything in it. Math, English, Science, Social Studies. You can easily adapt lesson plans to go along with outside materials from your local library or other work books and curricula. We use this book as a main focus in our home school studies while using other work books to supplement/practice what we are learning. So A definite must have .

This book requires quite a bit of preparation, thereby making it a challenge to dive right into it. I recommend reading all lessons prior to starting.

Our daughters have English as a 2nd language and so sometimes struggle with school work. We thought this might be helpful to us to help them at home. Some of it is useful but what is in the book doesn't necessarily jive with what they are learning in school.I think it would be more helpful for homeschoolers who are doing their own curriculum. Bottom line is I wished I'd previewed it at the library first.
