I have trained four cats, and although there's an assumption that only Siamese cats can be trained to sit on command, come when called, walk on a leash, and pose for photos, my techniques were so successful I won a prestigious award for my article, “Training Your Cat Like a Dog,” which is available on my website: [...]
So Buffy the Cat's willingness to pose (often in costume), touch specific items, and appear not only willing but adorable, is remarkable.
Sandy Robins has added clever captions to ensure that Buffy "makes the most of all nine lives," driving a car, playing golf, cooking, and sharing all kind of activities with human friends.
This little book, with full-color photos on every page, makes an ideal gift, and if you keep a copy on your coffee table, guests will relax and giggle even if dinner preparations take longer than usual.
Tabbies are the most common of domestic shorthairs, but Buffy the Cat proves they are
far from ordinary.
If anthropomorphizing them---making them seem more human---makes them more appealing for some and helps repair this broken bridge, then this book is a winner. Cats, like other creatures, mirror us in how we regard and treat them and how they respond to us. This book may help us see into this mirror with greater clarity and good humor that can spark humility and love.
Michael W. Fox, veterinarian and author of Cat Body, Cat Mind and The Healing Touch for Cats.
I just absolutely loved this book, and it would be a great book for any cat person. It should be on everyone's coffee table so others can enjoy the humor and wonder just how did Buffy pose for all these pictures. Even the best connected cat might have a hard time getting all these places.
