I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Arielle is a teacher who put her career on hold while she followed her ex-boyfriend, who is a minor league hockey player, from town to town until she found out that he was a chronic cheater.
Rod is best friends with Arielle’s brother and has had feelings for her for 12 years. Will he be able to convince her to give him a chance to prove how he really feels and convince her that she is all that he needs? I loved the characters as you can see Arielle’s reluctance to trust another hockey player that can have any woman he wants and how Rod was willing to do whatever was necessary to convince her that she was his everything. The author has created a wonderful group of secondary characters that make you wish for their own happy ever after and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I voluntarily read an advance copy for an honest review.
In terms of the sports elements, I can’t comment on the accuracy of any Hockey details talked about as I don’t follow it personally but as a novice I could easily follow. However, don’t be put off if you aren’t into sports because the book is so much more than that with the HEA that ties up Rod and Arielle’s story.
I really enjoyed this novella and would recommend it!
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
The patience and tenderness that Rod shows Arielle is so romantic! He literally towers over her but treats her so gently. She's very honest about not wanting to be hurt again, and Rod is trying his best to reassure her. Arielle does not come off as whiny, merely a woman who has given up so much for one man already. Rod has his work cut out for him!
This is a heart warming story with a great cast of supporting characters who deserve their own stories! You will NOT be disappointed with this one! I am looking forward to the next story!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.
Will Rod and Ari both get what want? You will have to read the full story.
Great sweet romance.
I normally don't give out five stars. It's a quirk of mine. But I can't help it here. The book is just that good.
