I give this book 3.5 Stars and would have rated it higher but there were a couple of dangling threads that bugged me a little at the end.
Now Rand and Parker, the two gay men who must be close to 40, are the children's nannies or mannies. I'm pretty sure by law these caregivers must be given time off yet they both are in the same boat. They've never had a close lasting relationship. Now I'm all for guys hooking up and making things work but these two came together too quickly, all in one overnight hotel visit. To be on the same page, to announce to their employers and the children that they're now in love, a couple, and life goes on as usual? A bit much after the distrust and forced truce. No touches or shy glances or even wanting to be around each other before the big trip. It was just too much all at once and beyond the top for a cute little bit of reality.
The girl's incident was also a bit over the top, so soon into their school year. These kids don't know each other yet they're acting like that because they can? There isn't any follow up, either. What happened to the other girls and what did the police do? I like to see a little justice done.
A friend loaned me her kindle ebook copy. - Dan's Wife
