#2. 3 variable speeds. I always use it on high. Go big or go home. But, I like options. They gave me 3. Very nice of Makita.
#3. Lightweight. This is a matter of great importance to me. Let me explain why. Before purchasing this product, I would take a broom up on the roof and spend what seemed like an eternity sweeping every shingle. Now, picture a person doing this who is extremely terrified of heights. The very peaks of the roofs aren't too bad, but closer to the edge of the roof I would just sit on my backside and sweep from a sitting position. Now though! I can blow the leaves one handed! Leaving one white knuckled hand free to apply a death grip on to anything I can possibly latch on to. I'm sure passing cars find entertainment in either method. Speaking for myself, the blower is a massive improvement.
#4. Flexibility. What I mean by this, is that there are numerous ways to use this product. Its not just for blowing off grass cuttings from the driveway. Blow out dead spiders from your garage. Blow out the dryer lint. Dry off your car after washing it and dry off yourself. Blow the debris out of your lawnmowers gas tank after you lost the cap and probably ran over it somewhere on your property never to found again (thankfully, I have two tanks). Blow off your air filter. Don't sweep your hardwood or tile floors, blow it out, preferably without pets currently in room. It is a mini hurricane in my hand and I will use its incredible force for cleanliness. Alright, its not that powerful, but its done everything I've asked of it. There are so many different uses for this product. When you are attempting any menial task around your home, first think, can my blower make this task more interesting or fun... if not, maybe I should do another chore just so I can use that awesome blower.
To wrap this review up, I used the product for approximately 5 months before casting my judgement. Its passed with flying colors. I recommend you get this now. My only warning to you is that you may encounter neighbor envy... especially if their blower is followed by one of those obnoxious orange extension cords that hangs up on everything and inevitably takes out their precious perennials in their neatly arranged flower beds.
It is also a BARE TOOL which means no battery or charger, also no case is included. I really, REALLY like this thing. The *only* less than stellar thing I can say about it is the trigger. If I pull back and push down I get full power, if I pull back and pull up I get less power. Strange. I opened the tool to see if it was sticking and the trigger is a pretty complex electronic deal so I didn't disassemble it further for fear of ruining my brand new tool. Anyway, I still give it five stars! Made in China.
The only gripe I have is that if you have this in your right hand, as I expect most people will, it will suck onto your pants if you get it too close. I just wish the intake was on the opposite side.
