Despite the fact that BDSM plays a huge role in the characters' lives, the BDSM that's in the book is mostly just talk. Nothing is really depicted. At one or two points they visit a dungeon but it's more of a looksey than an actually scene. Additionally, there is a M/M/M scene in the book which was interesting, I'm not massively into that but it was a very hot scene and well written - in fact I could say that about all of the sex scenes in this book. As for character development, etc. I would have to say that this story is more about Trenton and Razor starting out on a relationship. Both of them have had abusive relationships in the past and this is truly more about them learning that they need to learn to trust in order to move forward than about delivering a happily ever after where they are both over their past experiences. I really enjoyed this as it created a more realistic feel to the growth of the characters. I also have to say that I hope that Ms. Carr will write a sequel as I'm very curious to see how Trenton and Razor grow together.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Razor was a male model down on his luck trying to keep his head afloat. He had love, just not the love of his life. He wanted more. He needed more. Trenton was a successful contractor with a successful business. He has a loving boyfriend of 3 yrs but wasn't in love like he knew that he should be. He wanted more. He needed more. Through encouragement from their friends, both Razr and Trenton were lead to Male Order, and they found their much more, and even more than they bargained for. This story is about so much more than lobbed, but the trust and ultimate sacrifices that must be made for a sustainable relationship. Even D/S relationships require sacrifices. Razor and Trenton must make themselves vulnerable and sacrifice self if they want to hold on to what they have found.
I loved the plot and substance of this book. This books is a caveat that real relationships aren't easy and you have to really fight for what you want. The author did a great job of exposing, unraveling and healing the characters in this book.
Both the main characters have a need for a Dom/sub relationship and all that it entails but however have issues concerning the lifestyle that occurred when they were younger.
Razer was unemployed and not wanting a handout from Blake. Blake purchases Razer a subscription to Male Order a club that matches people, essentially Razer was to become a Male Order Groom.
On the other side was Dyson purchasing Trenton a subscription. They cared about each other, but Dyson who didn’t enjoy the lifestyle of Dom and sub, thought this was a good way to keep them together and give Trenton the sub that he needed.
The story was well written and fast paced.
I received this book as an ARC for a honest review.
