I recommend this book to everyone. It is an excellent read and it is so inspiring. It is easy reading and kept my interest throughout.
A timeless message told anew in the story of Mama Maggie: children are highly regarded by God. This book reminds us that meaningful care for the least of these was and always will be the highest of callings. Ellen Vaughn’s compelling and engaging narrative style reflects the practical outworking of an inward commitment to love in the poignant telling of the life of Mama Maggie. Mama Maggie has sought not only to pray, but to become prayer as Saint Francis of Assisi encouraged. The result? A life of radiant joy, centered peace, life-giving humility poured out into so many—yes, a living prayer. On this side of heaven, I doubt we would be able to conceive of the impact of this one visionary woman . . . but I would like to imagine, and one day hear those stories—unto the third and fourth generations--also told.

I really like this book on so many levels:
It is the biography of a devout Coptic Christian. We have so much to learn from Maggie’s commitment to God first, and from that to the Forgotten Children of Cairo’s Garbage slums.
I appreciated the underlying theme of worshipping and serving God through Coptic experience.
Also the influence Maggie had on other workers through her quiet faith.
It is at the same time a gentle and heroic story of abject poverty and triumph through adversity.
As with so many Christian biographies it is amazing what God does through one person who is surrendered to His plan. An excellent read. I bought to more copies for friends.
The only disappointment I had with this book that it came to an end. Loved it.
