    This is a review of the Blu-Ray version of A Man Called Otto starring Tom Hanks

    I would have preferred to have posted this "review" containing just the one word "Love" (or possibly L'Ove?) if I could have done so. Love is what is most important about this film, about the performance of Tom Hanks, (he doesn't seem capable of anything less than perfection}, and the rest of the wonderful cast.

    But, at the considerable risk of being branded deservedly, yet again, an inveterate old curmudgeon, I do feel that I ought to mention something about Amazon's service. Although I should be grateful because it seems I might have obtained a Blu-Ray copy "early", I feel obliged to point something out. Once again, Amazon have supplied a Blu-Ray which is region 1 or A only, without warning. With me that's OK, but it might not be the case with others in the U.K.. Sometimes they give warning. At other times, as in this case, (10/04/23), they have not. Perhaps Amazon will fix this, one way or another, later. One can only have faith and wait in hope, and of course, love.

    I bought this for my husband for Christmas and the disk would not play. Looking back at the listing it did not state it was a Region 1 disk for the USA only. The only text that shows it is not region 2 is on the right under the shipping information it states "US imports may differ from local products." It does not even say it in the Product Details tab.....

    I was embarrassed when we all sat down to watch it and it would not play. Amazon - please clearly label DVD or BluRay disks if they are NOT region 2 if you want to sell them in the UK.

    Fortunately Amazon refunded without a quibble but it did spoil a cold Sunday afternoon family film show.
