As a teenager, I took a course that used Man in Demand as our text. Now at the age of 63 after having taught for 39 years, our pastor has asked me to teach the boys in our church. When I showed him the book, he was excited to say the least. We expanded the class to two groups: those between 9 and 12 and those over 12. This is a great tool.

I know this is a needed study for teens as well as parents.. Parents don't teach because they don't know about Christian values and principles anymore, therefore one can't teach what they do not know. All you have to do is look at the way teens dress, the way they talk, what they are doing with their time (tv and cell phones) to realize they need help. What happened to the culture and leadership training that America once had? We must get back to basics.

I would like to buy a teacher book for the "Man on Demand". Is it available and if so will you let me know or place an order for me to receive it.

The contents of this book were taught to me in a Junior High Sunday school class many years ago. It is essentially a handbook on looking, and judging, based upon outward appearance. For example, one section of the book covers how to trim your hair and have it styled based upon your face shape all for the sake of your testimony for the Lord.

"[F]or man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” (1 Sam. 17:6)

I agree with the reviewer that gave the one star. This book basically wants everyone to look like a uniform "drone" and does not take into account the human desire for personal expression. If the author were to see half of the devout Christian Rock Musicians today - he/she would conclude they were using drugs because their hair style. While I agree we need to teach our teens the dangers of drugs and alcohol - there needs to be a more modern way of doing it. This book might have been relevant in the 1960's, but doesn't relate with modern culture and is highly judgemental. Manuals like this do more harm than good.
