Kid Cudi separates himself as an artist

Man, its something about Cudi I can relate to in his music. You can just feel the emotion bleeding through the tracks. He makes songs based on what he feels and not just to sell records and reach the masses. He is definitely an artist and has carved out his own uniqueness in Music. He's like no other artist out. If you loved Man on the Moon, I think you will enjoy Man on the Moon 2: The legend of Mr. Rager. This album seems to be a bit more personal than the last. It's not a perfect album, but it's damn near close and it's standout tracks are really awesome. Keep in mind, I listened to the album without any skips first and second go around, but these are the tracks that caught me.

All Along - 5/5 - Heartfelt, genuine track. Amazing production and lyrics.
Erase Me- 4/5 - Poppish feel to it...I like it...Kanye rips his verse
Mr. Rager - 5/5 - Amazing beat, hook, lyrics. Just a work of art
Mojo So Dope - 4.5/5 - Unique - amazing track
Scott Mescudi vs. The World 5/5- Gritty Intro - Beat and Lyrics mesh beautifully
Marijuana - 5/5 - Wow. Production Lyrics - all around dope track
Maniac - whe[...] dark crazy hook. "Paint the black hole blacker"
Ghost - 5/5 - Perfection
Ashin Kusher - 4.5/5 - Wait. I've almost listed every tack...lol... yo this album is nice
Trapped in my mind - 5/5 - Perfect close out track for the album

The other tracks are good too. I wanna thank cudi for this album and whoever helped create it. This joint is super laid back.

Darker follow up to Man on the Moon

"The Legend of Mr. Rager" contains songs that sound a lot darker than Kid Cudi's previous work, Man on the Moon. It's got catchy songs, like "Mr. Rager," which is a song about finding purpose and coming to terms with mortality. Erase Me is a sing-along, fun to listen to song that you've probably heard on mainstream radio. The album doesn't feel as cohesive as Man on the Moon. The melodies in the first album hung together to create a specific theme, but with this album, the songs don't meld together with that same kind of chemistry. Plus, I don't think the quality of songs is as good as Man on the Moon. If you like Kid Cudi, Mr. Rager won't disappoint, but it doesn't feel like a true step forward.

If you're new to Kid Cudi, listen to "Man on the Moon."

Concept Albums for the win!

I have no idea how Kid Cudi is so underrated. He's one of the best artists in the industry. What I like the most about this album is that Cudi is able to mix so many genres (Pop, Rap, Electronic) together into a sound that doesn't follow trends like most of what hip hop / hip pop now does.

I also love that it grows on the listener over time. I was obsessed with this album as soon as it came out. Then I began listening to it again a couple of months afterwards and and it was still awesome.

The best songs on the album are "Mojo So Dope," "Erase Me," "Mr. Ranger." The album flows really well which is similar to how the first album was.

If you ever have a chance, make sure to watch him live. He's been improving his shows now that he doesn't get high on stage.

Another awesomely unique album by Kid Cudi

While this is not Man on the Moon: The End of Day, it is again Cudi at his best. No one sounds like him, no one can make music like this guy. It gives you such a laid back feeling. I have listened to this album repeatedly since it was released and have yet to tire of it and I can say that for very few artists. Replay value for this one is extremely high and it is at least in my top three albums of 2010, possibly my number one. Every track is incredible but tracks that stand out as single worthy to me are "Mr. Rager," "Mojo So Dope," "Trapped in my Mind," "All Along," "Revofev," "Maniac," "Scott Mescudi Vs The World."
