This is one of the best and fun (entertaining) leadership development books that I have read so far! What really makes this book stand out is how the author, Scott Miller, is not afraid to share his leadership messes (mistakes) that helped him realize the importance of the leadership principle or practice. From there, he shares what he did to fix the mess and then provides us with some reflection and practices/challenges to develop our own leadership. It is a very easy read and is organized to be a 1 a day/ 30 day read. Each mess with accompanying principle or practice is anywhere from 2-5 pages, making it easy to read while on vacation, 5 minutes before work, or 5 minutes before going to bed. After having read it, my next plan is to read one challenge at the beginning of each week and focus on developing that one challenge for the week. I look forward to reflecting on my progress in 30 weeks! It is a breath of fresh air to have something so real out there.

Scott Miller seems poised to keep telling true-life, behind-the-scenes tales that make us feel instantly human AND hopeful.
