Wish there were more pictures, I love the art! So much better than the standard jigsaw pictures that anyone could take on their phone. The only thing I would suggest is add landscape option on all pics, not just the 2 or 3 that default that way. Love the options, piece tray, easy preview, up to 1200 ppieces, etc. One very cool touch is the option to control how far away the piece is from your finger or stylus. I personally haven't seen that option on other puzzle games and it's genius! Now that I have it I can't even play other puzzle apps, I just get irritated at how many times I have to drop the piece to look at it :-) This is a really well done app all around.
I'm ALWAYS looking for a good jigsaw puzzle game, but there's not enough that I like. There's always a problem with each app I try - then I found this one. First off, the pictures on this are not only absolutely breathtaking, they're challenging to put together, if you choose smaller pieces rather than big pieces. It has really soothing, happy music that would honestly put me to sleep if I wasn't so involved in the game (and sometimes it HAS put me to sleep if I'm doing puzzles late at night). When I bought my mom a Kindle for Christmas, I made sure that this game was downloaded onto it for her - that's how much I love the game and I'm sure others will love it.
The only reason, however, that I gave this app four stars instead of five, is because there aren't many puzzles on this game. Sure, you could do them over and over again, but.. I just feel like more pictures would be better. Even if there's a paid app where you pay as little as 99 cents to $5 and it would come with more pictures, I'd probably buy it. Just food for thought!
This is a wonderful set of puzzles, with a very clean, simple interface. The images are vividly colorful and appear to glow, in a stained-glass-like effect; some are breathtaking.
The deceptively simple interface is very customizable: you can select the number of pieces (12-1200), and choose whether these pieces rotate, for an authentic jigsaw-on-the-table experience. The background brightness is fully adjustable, to make pieces stand out better no matter what color they are, and the workspace can be zoomed by either a slider or just a pinch. There is also an optional offset, which allows the shape of the piece to be seen while dragging, rather than covering it up with your finger. Connecting pieces give a satisfying little snap, so you're sure you've succeeded.
One small flaw has to do with the pieces tray that optionally runs across the bottom: at first pieces can be put back on the tray as one would expect, dragging them to the tray they pop from the game plane to the tray plane, and are placed. After a bit of play (perhaps this has to do with memory available?) the pieces don't jump up to the tray but slide under it. If anyone else is having this problem, I found that if you continue to slide downwards past the game and into the Android menu buttons, the piece will make its way to the tray after you've passed the virtual edge of the game. It's a small glitch, and a reasonable workaround, I'm only taking off half a point, and rounding up. :O)
I've been using this on my Fire 7, and, despite the device always complaining of available memory issues (a device problem, not to do with the game), the game ran very smoothly. I accidentally shut it down a couple of times, and it always came right back, progress intact (and it's fun to watch the puzzle load, the completed sections put on a little show). The game saves every 10mins, so at most you might lose a couple of placed pieces, but overall it's been very reliable for me.
I see the reviews knocking the game for not enough pieces, and not being challenging enough, and I can only conclude that those reviewers hadn't fully explored the options. If 1200 rotatable pieces of a complex image aren't challenge enough, perhaps this is an issue beyond the scope of what an app can provide.
Overall, I'm thrilled to have found this, and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys jigsaws.
The pictures are absolutely beautiful. Best jigsaw puzzle app out there. It offers a plethora of settings. Size, # of pieces, pieces right side up or for more of a challenge you can set it to rotate the pieces & of course zoom in & out. You can have it directly under your finger or above it so you can see the whole piece. These are but a few of the options. The accompanying music is soft & beautiful. Very relaxing. I am hopping (note to developers: begging) for more puzzles.
Really enjoying these puzzles. They are absolutely gorgeous and I love all the options available. You can change the size of puzzle pieces which allow for the entire family to play. I've tried several puzzle apps and this is by far the best and the one I would recommend so give it a try. I truly believe you'll enjoy this little gem a much as I have! 😉
I got stuck at an airport and opened up this app for the first time. I chose the 1200 piece puzzle thinking I would finish it in time for my flight to come in (4 hours later). The puzzle took me a total of 24 hours to complete! The images are beautiful, and I can't wait to start my next puzzle. The background music is not annoying, but can easily be muted. I find it best to play this game with a stylus.
