Legs extend quickly and smoothly for fast setup.
Tripod is ROCK SOLID. It claims to support up to 11 pounds and I believe it. This makes it suitable for many DSLRs with large telephoto lenses.
Flip lever leg locks (I won't buy a tripod with the twisty kind).
It's tall - if you extend the center column all the way up, it's around 70" tall.
Grippy foam substance on a couple of legs for better handling.
I'm not sold on the 3-way head design. There are three handles (corresponding to different axis's of movement) that must be tightened/loosened to make adjustments. A ball or pistol grip head would be simpler & faster to use for DSLRs.
Costco included a bag (hurrah), but sadly the tripod won't fit unless the head is disassembled. (!)
No spikes on feet.
No hook on center column to add extra ballast weight.
Weight - it's a pound or two heavier than I would prefer. This is my primary concern - if it's too heavy, it doesn't get used as much.
Overall this is a high quality tripod and a good value. You won't be disappointed in the quality. The question is whether the weight and head design will work for you. At the moment, I'm not sure whether I will keep it due to these factors.
The ability to spread the legs makes it even more flexible when you really need rock-solid stability. This baby don't budge
The head operates smoothly and positively. It locks down tight, yet is flexible enough to allow you to easily reposition the camera.
The spirit level is a useful feature and the tripod's controls allow you to get it level very quickly.
This tripod is not lightweight, per se, but it's not a beast either. I use a case with shoulder strap that I found on Amazon for about $19 and solved the problem of how to carry it.

Amazing tripod. Have been looking for a tall, sturdy tripod. It is a top purchase. Only con is the weight. Its not too heavy, but it can get heavy for long distances.Published 17 days ago by Omie
Although it is a bit heavy you are getting a tank of a tripod that is nearly 7 feet tall with a DSLR on top. Read morePublished 8 months ago by Alex
The part below the head mount broke when I use a slider. DO NOT use a slider on this thing.Published 13 months ago by Tango
