There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
I was to be sorely dissapointed. Where I was expecting an aluminum body with silicone pads, I found myself holding a flimsy plastic body.
I had also expected the stand to be more robust, but it is no more than a plastic tab that extends and rotates to prop the phone up. Granted it does that job well out of the box, but I have concerns that it will last.
The Manfrotto Mount will accept phablet sized phones up to 3.25" wide, the stand is about 1/16" thick and 1.5" long.
I am sure that this will be all that a person with a 2.5" wide phone will ever need, as it will not stretch the unit to it's limits; but I would not use this with my Galaxy Note 2 or any other 3.25" phablet as it makes the unit bend backwards slightly, indicating over-stress.
I'll stay with my Square Jellyfish with metal base for now, until Manfrotto can make one at the quality level I know they can produce (An aluminum bodied cell phone mount with 4" capacity).
The spring and extension are great, strong and clamps down good on my iPhone 7 in its case and the plastic grippy parts on the clamp are as well made as the rest of the accessory. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks and pick one up because the only thing you’ll be picking up with those other cheap clamps is your smartphone off the ground.
Photos Below Showing It attached to my Bontend Flex Tripod holding my old iPhone 5, but it holds my iPhone 7 just as well.
Your phone also needs to be a very narrow width if you want it to fit in this clamp. I tried it with my Pixel 4 without a case and it barely fits and is very difficult to get in. It also presses the side buttons in or activates the squeeze action depending on where you put it (you'll only experience both problems if you have a capable phone and your sensitivity is set low enough).
Using phones that were slightly wider or inside of a case, you are under constant threat of the immense spring tension sending the phone flying out and the clamp snapping shut (or breaking) because it won't be big enough to get around the sides (tested with cased Moto x4 and Galaxy Note 8, it did not fit around the Note 8 at all).
The clamp pressing side buttons is only a problem if you use the kickstand, which I no longer plan to because that's another flimsy feature and unless I have the clamp in a position where it's pressing the volume buttons, my phone sits lopsided and falls over with a small bump of the table or if I try to use the touch screen. I'm not docking points for the kickstand, since it seems like an attempt at an extra perk for this device, even though it is not great at all.
I haven't tried any other clamps like this one, but now I'm tempted to after seeing what you get at this price point.
Can be used on tripod, or table top
Difficult to put phone in (you have to pry one side down and I can never remember which one–this is the problem with all of this phone mount styled design)
More expensive than off-brand
Not noticeably better than today's off-brands
Top international reviews
I chose the Manfrotto clamp over others (despite the higher price) as the reviews reassured me it would work safely with my iPhone 7+. Those reviews were right; the clamp will take even the phablet 7+ phone whilst still in a case. The clamp has strong spring tension to hold either end together; and there is a manfrotto red rubber grip to hold without scratching your phone. There are two tripod thread points; one on the base and another on the back. I have been using it with the joby suction mount and arm to get timelapse video and it has worked excellently - when not in use the unit is tiny and fits in most any pocket in my back
• The plastic is of high materials and grips my Samsung Galaxy S9+ without any problems.
• Keep in mind that it may scratch your case if your not careful but you wont have to worry about it falling out of the clamp.
Simple but well thought out.
Selbstverständlich freue ich mich über eine postive Bewertung meines Kommentares. Vielen Dank.
The phone is held securely in an extensible spring-loaded clamp. There's a standard threaded bush at the bottom , and a second at the back, allowing a choice of orientations on a tripod or monopod.
The Manfrotto Smartphone Clamp easily carries my iPhone SE, even when it's fitted in its i-Blason case. I've also found it useful when using my phone camera to take pictures through a microscope, by mounting the Clamp on a tabletop tripod then using that to hold the lens squarely over the eyepiece, without wobbling. Photographs taken this way are surprisingly effective.
Super little gadget. I love it.
Dose the job, I can just about fit my Galaxy S5 in it's case , the little kick stand on the back is useful too.
The iPhone is inserted and held in a "vice-like" grip by pulling on the spring-loaded top.
Cosa mi è piaciuto:
--->Le plastiche sono buone e gli inserti in silicone fanno la giusta presa e non rovinano lo smartphone. Il sistema di aggancio e la molla interna sono robuste:le ho messe sotto sforzo diverse volte e non hanno accennato al minimo cedimento.
----> doppio sistema di aggancio "a vite" da 1/4, uno posteriore ed uno alla base per permettere il posizionamento del telefono in svariate posizioni;
----> staffa autoreggente sul retro che permette al morsetto di essere utilizzato come supporto da tavolo;
Cosa non mi è piaciuto?
Assolutamente niente. Costa poco meno di 9 euro, è di buona qualità ed è utile. Per me è da 5 stelle.
Spero che la mia esperienza ti sia stata utile. ciao a tutti!!!!
It needs some sort of handle to be able to easily open and close the clamp especially when your phone is in the clamp.
Spring feels a bit rough when expanding the clamp.
It's an all plastic construction mostly. Fits my tripod without any issues.
