At the suggestion of a friend, Walker (along with his friend's cat, Mango Bob) points his RV in the direction of the Treasure Coast of East Florida to try his hand at metal detecting. He makes new friends in the middle of a major storm and is quickly dubbed a lucky charm. Once again, major life changes seem to be in store for him. I enjoyed watching the development of Walker's new friendships. He seems like such a nice, stand-up kind of guy. I like how nothing really ever seems to phase him in his adventures. And, I love how he takes such good care of Bob. Mr. Myers' writing style is quite lovely. I had a difficult time putting the book down. Seriously, though, my friends are going to think I've gone soft for giving not one but two books in a series five stars! But, this book is totally deserving of those five stars. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Absolutely fun reading. Easy, light, and lots of laughs. This style of writing is a very pleasant relief from the drudgery of novels that strain every part of ones being. Just stretch back, relax, have a beer, and your day will be an enjoyable experience. Thanks to Amazon's heads-up notices, I can watch for more of these wonderful books.

What plot? I'm 65% of the way through this book and I don't see any plot yet. This is one of the most prosaic pieces of writing I've ever read. I keep thinking something is going to happen, but all we get in the first 60% is blah blah blah about RV's and how they work and how many pizzas are in the fridge, driving across Florida, the correct technique for using a metal detector, setting up the RV, zzzzzzzzzz. There's a little bit of intrigue built at the 60% point as to whether Walker will wind up with the new woman or the one he left behind on the other side of Florida, but at this point, who cares. I almost never review books, but this one is a real snoozer.

I had read Mango Bob awhile ago and enjoyed it, so I knew I would like this one. Walker is very lucky, as people in the story say he is. And finding the buried treasure on the beach was so awesome. I really enjoyed this book and hope he writes another one about when Walker moves back to Englewood. It was so nice to read a story that didn't have any violence in it. Well, maybe just a bit, but he didn't dwell on it.

I have read the entire series. The books follow a protagonist I can only assume represents the life the author wishes he lived. It is about a man, a cat and an RV. I read the series thinking "it has to get better". I doesn't have to and it doesn't. The story line is thin and the foreshadowing is even thinner. If you are looking for an inexpensive quick read, you might give it a try, but I would probably not read any more in the series, even if they were free.

Another fun story which will transport the reader down to sunny (I guess stormy in this case) Florida. If you read the first installment, then this one will be similar but a little less time talking about the motor home and a little more about treasure hunting. Walker and the characters he runs into are fun, interesting and likable and the story is neat too. If you’re looking for some light reading with a beach theme grab this series.

These books are charming. Start with Mango Bob. You will meet the central character, John Walker, and the cat, Mango Bob. Through the series, Walker will meet a number of regular folk, mostly nice, as he makes a new life in a quiet little town on the West Coast of Florida. Mr. Myers writing style is easy reading -- great for lazy summer days.

I read book 1 if this series and had hopes of improvements. It is a story like book 1 still to much detail on the little stuff with a weak story line and weak character development. It's just plain dull.
