About the author

Jennifer Crusie was researching her dissertation on the differences in the way men and women tell stories when she got sidetracked into writing romance novels.
Her first book was published in 1993 (which pretty much finished off any hope of her getting that PhD) and her twenty-second book, Maybe This Time, came out in August of 2010, all of which she considers a minor miracle, especially since she is also a New York Times, USA Today and Publisher's Weekly bestseller and a two-time Rita award winner.
Jenny is currently working on her new Liz Danger mystery series. She is a very happy woman.

He has no real responsibilities or worries. After years with a career as a tax attorney, Jake Templeton has dropped out of the rat race and lives his life helping his younger brother build up his golf resort. Jake manages maintenance on most days and vedges in a rowboat on a serene lake the rest of the time. Life is good - - he's a semi-vagabond, running from commitment of any kind and he loves it. And then he meets prim and proper Kate.
This is an easy paced plot of striving towards your ultimate goal in life...so focused on reaching that goal that you don't realize when you've become blindsided and your ideals have shifted and the goal no longer applies. This is a quick read...clean, without gratuitous or explicit intimate moments (I love erotica but sometimes sweet is nice..)... It's completely predictable with enough comic relief to keep it fun.
She writes real women and flawed romantic leads than are endearing because of that. Man hunting was a fun frolic that made me giggle and laugh. True entertainment.

I like J. Crusie's style of writing. Very real, update & colorful enough to make you feel you're with them.
The book is about Kate, a successful business woman in her mid 30's. She has everything: career & money except for someone to share her life with. She goes out with a list & a plan to find her future husband. After meeting a few yuppies, she realizes that she doesn't care for the type after all.
Jake is a divorced ex-tax lawyer who is tired of the city life & success. He went back to his hometown in the countryside to live a laid back life. Content with doing a "Handyman" job for his brother.
A lot of funny situations & no beating around the bush crap.
Great read!
