Having praised where praise is due, only bone I had to pick was with the story Angel's Duet. It seemed too contrived at the end and overall dragged on forever. Still, my disappointment with that story is not justifiable reason to give this book less than five stars. I'm really looking forward to reading Volume One! Thanks, Michelle! Best Phanfic I've read in a LONG time!!
From a life-long Phan.
This is a wonderful book, very nice cover art, and each word is to be savored and read twice since they are almost poetic. Wonderful word pictures and the love shines through in each sentence!
A must read for all Phantom fans.
Now for those who aren't familiar:
*SOME MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD*
Personally, I think a lot of the time Erik and Christine are a little out of character. Sometime's I feel like I am reading about two entierly different characters. Some of her stories are great! I love the atmosphere the author can create, she has a great ability to really bring you into the story. I liked her darker, sadder stories in this volume, they were beautifully written. But sometimes her stories just don't make sense to me, like the one story where Erik kidnaps Christine and basically rapes her and yet she falls in love with him anyway. It just seems unrealistic. But as Rodriguez states in the beginning of the book, there is a story for everyone here. You may like some, you may not, or you may love them all. I found a few stories here I really enjoyed and if she makes a volume 3, I'll be sure to check it out.
