About the Author
Diane Scheurell, Ph.D. was a child of the 60’s, raised in the gritty industrial town of Manitowoc, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. Like many of her peers, she had liberal ideals as a young adult, influenced by the zeitgeist of her 14 years on campus earning her bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. degrees. She had good intentions to follow those ideals, but they slipped away as she immersed herself in the corporate culture prevalent in the 80’s and 90’s. She knew something was wrong, knew she needed to reclaim her truth, and finally did using a combination of mentor-teachers and transformation tools. Recovering her authenticity and her inner peace, she escaped corporate life and started a new life on the Big Island of Hawai‘i where she has put down roots. Manifesting Paradise is Ms. Scheurell’s first book. See the story continue at her blog, www.ManifestingParadise.com.

What I really appreciate is the honesty and humor that Diane uses to convey her journey - which ranges from disgruntled family members to disruptive chickens and roosters. I highly suggest seeing the pictures contained in Diane's website because these pictures make the story so much more real as you read the book and in my opinion more fun. In addition, Diane weaves in so many interesting and memorable acronyms and inspirational phrases. For example, I'll never look at QTIPS the same again!
In the end, this book helped me reflect on my own life and question what I really want - and what I need to do to manifest/will my own paradise. Diane inspired me to realize that I too can manifest my own paradise - whatever that may be - and that paradise takes work, inner reflection, finding meaning in small things and is enhanced when interspersed with humor. And that manifesting paradise isn't the end-goal, it's just the beginning.
I like to take this book along when work requires me to travel overseas. I invariably miss Hawaii when I leave. Reading Diane’s sensitive descriptions on my travels always brings me back home, to Honokaa town. In fact, the book has enabled me to appreciate our sweet town, and the Big Island, even more.
But the book is about so much more than geographic “place.” It is moreover about the positioning of one’s heart. Diane embraces every moment – whether joyous, silly, or challenging – to its fullest.
Thank you, Diane for sharing your Experience, Hope and Insights. I feel honored to have followed your Journey of Self-Discovery and Transformation written with the addition of so many entertaining details. A true blend of Erma Bombeck's humor and Elizabeth Gilbert's journey in her popular Eat, Pray, Love.
This book is a true inspiration. I would highly recommend that everyone examine and attempt to implement some of all of the Transformation Tools that are so liberally sprinkled throughout. We can each Manifest our own Paradise even if our vision of our own future does not not include moving half way across the Pacific Ocean.
I look forward to reading the second book that begs to be written as well as seeing the movie when it comes out. Congratulations and Best of Luck on All of your Future Endeavors.
