When AirForce twin vets Tanner and Garrett Mann's computer shop business got burned to ashes, including their friend Will, they decided to go back to their quaint little hometown, Beach Pointe. There Tanner thought of opening a cupcake shop with manly toppings, like bacon and CheezeWhiz, instead of the usual sugary sweets that most women love.
But there's one hitch to that plan. There was already another cupcake shop in town, and the owner of these sweet confection were none other than Tanner's ex-girlfriend Paige and her sister Morgan, who was Garrett's long time secret crush. It was only a matter of time before the customers cancelled their orders and transferred to another one. Uh-oh. That sounded like monkey business, right?
The rivalry between the Baxters and Manns was hilariously sweet. Tanner upping his game by taunting Paige with his sexy hot body and seductive marketing skills may seem a little childish at one point, but it was definitely worth every drool. I mean worth every penny.
Seriously, these twins were gorgeous and they love the attention - well, Tanner mostly. I liked the Garrett was the subdued one and his love interest was his exact opposite. Tanner, the aggressive one turning mushy and soft around Paige was really cute. I love love love these siblings.
The story was not only fun, but also moving and mysterious. I loved that this book offered more than the sibling rivalry arc, but there was also a guessing game involved in the story - an arsonist on the loose and the paternity test for an autistic child. My heart melted for the wonder boy Tyler and my mind was surprised about the stalker character. Aren't you mystified yet?
Yes, there's really a lot to take in with this Mann Cakes and I assure you, this is a really delicious read. Truly highly recommended!
The Baxter sisters already have a cupcake shop - the sweet kind - and are annoyed at the new competition. Then they discover that the boys, with whom they have history, have opened it and things go from simmering to cooking!
I enjoyed this authors Roche series so much that I practically demanded an ARC copy to check out, and I'm so glad I did. This is the rarest of romantic books, in that there's plenty here for male readers too. The humor is lighthearted (and at times laugh out loud), the suspense just enough to keep you turning the pages, and the steamy bits enough to make you wish you owned a cupcake shop.
Check it out. Trust me...as well as romance, sex and intrigue, there are 'snort drink down your nose' comedy moments. A great, balanced read!!
Once you start this book you will not be able to put it down.
Tanner and Garrett are two sexy twins. Before they joined the military together they had started a PC company together. Only something tragic happened and when they got back their company and their friend was gone. The guys are lost for what to do. Then Tanner comes up with an idea to start pastry business catering to men called Mann Cakes. Only with two sexy men running it men are not who they catch the attention of!
Paige and Morgan run the Two Sisters cupcake shop. Paige has a history with Tanner and a secret she tries to keep hidden. She accuses Tanner of trying to run her and her sister out of business. This starts a friendly war between the two groups.
You will so love this exciting, funny, sweet, Charming, and steamy hot Romance! It is a five star plus book!
Tanner and Garrett Mann are having a hard time settling in after coming back from their deployment to Iraq. They find out their business was burned down while they were gone, so they're left to go back to their hometown and try to start over. While in Beach Point, they come up with the genius idea to open a cupcake shop that makes savory cupcakes. The whole idea is to give men an option they would actually want to eat at a party. What they didn't expect was them opening their business would take away customers from the Two Sisters Cupcakes run by Paige and Morgan Baxter. Paige and Tanner have a romantic history from back in high school that is causing some major tension between the duo and then we have Morgan and Garrett who have always wanted to date but never got the chance. In this novel, you actually get to see both romances happen along with a bit of whodunit when someone seems out to cause the brothers trouble.
Mann Cakes was a yummy mix of romance, second chances and a dash of mystery. I was a bit mixed on this book mainly because of the parallels between the different romances. Then we had a bit of relationship building that had love entering the picture fast. I feel like it would have been stronger if it had focused on one couple and then had a second book with the other siblings as the leads. Don't get me wrong though, this was still a good read. I'd recommend this book if you're a fan of romance with baking mixed in.
This was my first book narrated by Addison Spear and won't be my last. I thought she did a wonderful job and enjoyed her narration of the story.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
