The filter material looks to be the same as factory. The only difference is that its Outside Diameter is a bit smaller than the Toyota filter.
It's only noticeable if you put them side by side, and I happened to have a new Toyota filter on hand. This is the only reason for four stars, everything else was great.
The plastic drain tube is threaded, which I thought was a much smarter design than Toyota's snap on adapter. I decided to keep it.
I came to the conclusion that Toyota makes the best filters for the money, you can get them as low as $5 a piece.
Edit - After comparing to Toyota OEM, this filter looks to be eerily similar, almost exact. Wouldn't be surprised if Mann makes these for Toyota. Screw in type drain plug is a definite must, no oil on your hands. Although the filter and housing still has a decent amount of oil in it even after using the drain plug. Have your oil pan and cardboard ready. Keep housing upright and then tilt it quickly into pan.
Nothing much to say about the filter itself - seems fine to me, but I have no way to evaluate it.
