The ManPlow arrived in a large flat box and was assembled for the most part. I only had to attach the handle to the blade. A standard open end wrench was provided as if they assumed you would not even have the most basic tools in your house. Normally these things are good insurance against any further snowfalls, but that was not the case when we got a light dusting several days after I stood it up against the wall of my barn.
Make no mistake, this is not a snow shovel! This is a snow pusher. You can't dig and lift. All action is pushing. The large foot on the bottom prevents the blade from digging in, so you can control how much of a "bite" you can take at one time. The ManPlow is stellar for clearing an inch or two off my driveway. You can angle the blade, leading one edge ahead of the other, and literally plow it off to one side. The plastic edge is quiet, and planes the snoww off right down to the surface. The ManPlow is also good for cleaning up after plowing or snowthrowing.
What it's not good for: I've since been "rewarded" with a couple of large snowfalls. This gave me an opportunity to try it out in the deep stuff by pushing the snow away from the house before getting behind it with my tractor and plow. It's not good.Read more ›
What I found in practice was this could just supplement my shovel. I use this plow to push all the snow to the edges of the driveway ( or as far as I can push it without falling ), then I use my normal shovel to pick the snow up and throw it over the mounds of snow you create. I know that all manufacturer states that you can take multiple passes to accomplish this same thing, but I have found that this just doesn't work that well in practice ( at least for me ).
One word of warning - although this is made of metal, it is not the thickest of material. When plowing I nudged it a couple times with my leg to push the snow and it bent the plow near the bottom. I was able to bend it back, but that taught me that you cannot do anything besides push this in a straight line and then follow it up with a normal shovel.
On a positive note this is the perfect width for sidewalks and it does cut down my overall 'back and forth' time on the driveway.
If I had to buy it again I probably would
On the plus side it is much easier to put together thanks to better screws. The old had squared off ends and flat screw heads. Once the metal shovel holes wore through the screws would spin free making it very difficult to take the blade on/off.
I am going to try to mount the shovel to the old handle which is longer, heavier and padded than the thing that came with the new one. This means drilling new holes in the old handle but I'm hoping it fits ok.
I drilled two new holes in the shovel and put it on my old, much larger handle and the difference is night and day. The included handle was useless. The old handle I had is much better and actually allows me to put some weight behind pushing.
Important note: The Amazon pictures for this are wrong. The new handle looks like it has a wrapping it does not. The pictures are from the old version. I've included pictures of the different size handles.
It is extremely satisfying clearing my driveway off in minutes when it used to take me an 1+ hours. I seriously wish I would have purchased this plow years ago, the build quality is great and I expect it to last for years to come. The Manplow does not arrive assembled but it only takes 5 minutes to bolt the handle on and then you are good to go. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

I bought this a few years ago when I found it by accident online. I used to use two square shovels and push them at the same time and thought I'd invented something. Read morePublished 8 months ago by Ronnie L
Works fairly well. It removes the bulk of the snow, but doesn't scrape the concrete well. I still had to go over it with another shovel in order to get the snow cleared off.Published 8 months ago by Shamasi
