About the Author

James L. D'Adamo, N.D., D.N.B., originator of the famed Blood Type Diet, founder and director of the D'Adamo Institute for the Advancement of Natural Therapies, has been a certified naturopath for 50 years. Trained in the United States, Germany and Switzerland, he has worked in New York, Montreal and Europe. He currently operates two highly successful clinics in Toronto Ontario Canada and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Fifty years ago, Dr. James L. D'Adamo made a discovery that would revolutionize natural medicine by establishing a correlation between a person's blood type and their dietary requirements, physical exercises, inherent strengths and weaknesses and what assets and liabilities one was given at birth. It didn't stop there. With Dr. D'Adamo's tenacity and passion for healing he discovered how sub blood groups and RH factors play an integral role in health and healing. The success of using the blood type and subtype along with his unique diagnostic tools proved that "you are what you eat." The success he has gained has brought patients to travel to the Institute from across North and South America, Asia, Great Britain and Europe. His client list includes movies stars, royalty, politicians, medical experts and business leaders.

Dr. James L. D'Adamo has given numerous television and radio interviews exploring his blood type theory, and has lectured in the United States, Great Britain, Belgium and Canada. He is a teacher, researcher as well as the author of "One Man's Food . . . Is Someone Else's Poison" (1980) and "The D'Adamo Diet" (1989). He is currently working on his third book, which should be coming out in 2007.

Since founding The Institute in 1980, Dr. James L. D'Adamo has worked with his team of specialists to create the most comprehensive and effective natural health care service in North America.
