Although fictional, it is about a man who is a terrestrial type person. Honest, honorable, respected, and wealthy. He does good in the world and donates to charities, but all with the purpose of being respected, getting his name out there which helps his businesses, and so forth. He has a dream or out of body experience where he learns what is really important to God and one's soul in the here-after. A good reminder of what being Christ-like is all about.
Reads quick and isn't that many pages. We read it to our kids 11 and 14. They listened and liked it. Gave us a good opportunity to have a discussion about what is important to our souls and why, how we can do good without getting notice or praise of the world. We bought a couple more to give away to others. A good read and I highly recommend it.
I will continue to live modestly and give freely for the blessings I receive from this way of life is immeasurable here on earth. But I can honestly say I am rich in heart.
As you read this book, look at your own life and reflect....change if you feel the need.
What counts in heaven is what's truly given during our time on earth. "Lay not up for yourself treasures upon earth. ... But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven." —Matthew 6:19-21
