K&H Thermo-Kitty Beds
All K&H Thermo-Kitty Beds are comfortable all-season beds. This cozy bed envelops your kitty in a bed of heated comfort with heater on, or remove heater easily when weather is warmer.
The K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed and the K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed Deluxe both include a one-piece pillow and inside fleece comes over the top for an appealing look. These beds feature a soft, fluffy polyfilled pillow for cloud-like sleepy comfort. The entire cover is removable for machine wash by unzipping out the inside ortho-foam wall and pet bed warmer. The dual thermostat 4-watt heater warms the surface to 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature. When it is in use, it heats to complement the body temperature range of your pet.
The Deluxe Model
The K&H Thermo-Kitty Bed Deluxe offers all of the comforting features of the original Thermo-Kitty Bed, but incorporates a zip-off hood. The removable hood caters to your pets desire to curl in and feel secure and warm.
Cleaning is a breeze
The Thermo-Kitty Bed is a snap to clean. Remove the heater by locating and unzipping the zipper on the sleeping surface pillow inside the bed. Unzip the zipper on the bottom of the bed and remove the foam walls. Throw the cover in the washer on gentle cycle cold water and use a mild detergent. Line dry or dry in your dryer on the no heat cycle.
Please Note: Do not wash heater, do not wash foam walls.

Top customer reviews
After we pried the cats out, we lined these up under a bank of wall-hung cabinets in our living room (we had measured to ensure the sides of this bed wouldn't be too high and prevent the cats from getting in and out - no problem). As we were still setting them in place and plugging them in, every single one filled up.
It's been about a year and a half and I don't think the beds have EVER been empty. The cat gets out...another cat jumps in. One particular kitty, Jezebel, is pretty much truly and actually living in the bed. We see her slink out from the bedroom (where we moved two of the beds) to the kitchen to eat, then a few minutes later, after she's done eating, she heads right back into the bedroom. When we go in after her to look around, she's already back in one of the beds, every time. Jezebel was a street cat that had a hard life before we adopted her (she was feral when we got her; it's been a long haul to get her to trust us), so if she wants to spend the rest of her life doing nothing but lying and soaking up heat, that's fine with us :-)
Getting these beds also helped US in an indirect way, in that we had fewer cats sharing our bed at night. No more waking up with cricks in our necks, or leg cramps, from the cats getting us to twist ourselves into pretzel shapes in our sleep! Of course, since we only have four of these, and some of our cats - both personal and fosters - are pretty large, there's never enough of these beds to really go around. We've seen up to three smaller cats crammed into one bed (and looking content about it), but the big boned, or just plain fat, cats fill the bed up entirely. So we still have cats sharing our bed at night (not that we mind).
It's clear that we need to get more of these. The cats literally LOVE them, as just about every other review has stated. So we're trying to figure out other places we can put more of these, while keeping them out of the way of walk paths (a one bedroom condo doesn't have much spare space to begin with).
As for the heat part, the beds are just right for cats. Don't judge the heat level by human standards. The fact that so many reviews say that their cats don't leave these beds, or fight over them, is all the proof you need that K & H knows what cats like and want, and got it right. We've left all four beds plugged in non-stop since the day we got them (other than unplugging for washing the covers), and haven't had a single problem. Nor has our electric bill gone up in any noticeable way. We even leave them plugged in during the summer, as some cats - again, either our own, or a guest or foster - prefer heat temperatures that rival that of magma :-)
Bottom line - if you have a cat (or cats), you will literally make their world if you get this for them. Sure, there will be some cats that will turn their nose up at it, but that's not the fault of the product; it's a matter of that cat being...a CAT! Meaning, they can be picky little buggers. But the vast majority of cats will either love these off the bat, or come to love them over time.
Once that happens, you'll never wonder where to find your cat(s) again. If you don't see them in the room you're in, just go check the beds :-)
We are both very happy with the purchase.
I work at home and therefore have both cats on my chair pretty much at all times, especially when I have my space heater on under my desk. I need just a little time during the day with my arms and lap clear to get some work done. No distractions. They just love to be near me, and to be warm. I love it but still need just a little space. I keep telling them that I gotta work so I can afford to feed them, but they just never seem to understand! ;)
They are both 17 and have their routines, and I was just not looking forward to the constant war over my lap that was beginning to ensue, now that the weather is getting cold. Yearly occurrence.
I set this bed up on my desk in the place I usually put either a bed (when it's cold) or a blanket (when it's warm) for them. I set it up with a pillow on top (per instructions), along with a few other items to add some weight, and didn't remove the tags/stickers in case it didn't work. I was ten minutes through the twenty minute test run when my big boy (the white one) saw the bed and made a bee-line for it. I had to quickly remove the pillow and random debris so he could get in it. I figured the whole point is to get them to like it, right? Well, apparently it works! Ended up having to remove the sticker and tags out from under him!
I have large cats, my white/orange male is 20 lbs and larger physically than most cats, my grey male is 10 lbs (still a big boy). They have lived together for 16 years and still aren't the best of friends, but they do tolerate each other to share warmth. Yes, I still have to break-up their fights. The smaller grey one is actually dominant!!! The 20 inch bed is perfect, gives them a little room to spare! I think the 16 inch would be good for most cats. Make sure you check the different colors of the bed, the cost varies wildly!! The sage was the cheapest, looks good, and is not lower quality. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
My kitties are in this bed roughly 20 out of 24 hours per day now. They love it! I love it! I can work, my boyfriend can sleep! And I know they are happy and comfortable. And they are right next to me all day. Score!!!!
I talked my friend into buying one of the 16 inch beds for her cat and he just wouldn't take to it. He's a finicky little thing, was a stray for a long time and still does things on his own terms. So she gave me the bed! Yay!!
I've had my 20 inch for about 3 weeks now. I still like it but my cats fight over it constantly!!! You can tell the heating pad goes straight across the middle, because that's where they always want to lay, right across the middle of the bed. That creates some issues but if your cats get along and are large, the 20 inch would be fine. Perfect size for a smaller dog, too!
DIFFERENCES I NOTICED WITH THE 16 INCH BED: I have the 20 inch and 16 inch, both in sage. The 16 inch is WAY warmer than the 20 inch. I have no idea why. When I put my hand under the beds, there is a significant difference in temp. The 20 inch feels warm like a lap, the 16 inch feels like a blanket thrown over the radiator. Not boiling hot, just way hotter. My big boy has taken to the 16 inch, he doesn't have a lot of room to spare but he is the heat hog. My smaller cat just curls up in the middle of the 20 inch. If you are concerned about keeping these beds plugged in 24/7, you should probably go with the larger one for piece of mind. I really have no explanation for the heat difference, but I feel a lot safer with the big one on full-time. Also, these beds have slippery bottoms. Put a blanket or something that will create friction under the beds so the cats won't go flying when they jump in!!!
