I was easily drawn into this story and was excited to keep reading until the end. My heart broke for Abbi and what she was put through. I think what I appreciated most about this book was the message. - Nobody for any reason has the right to do what happened to Abbi. I really enjoyed seeing Abbi's character grow throughout this story and that she finally found her voice and took the power away from others! Clay was a pretty great book boyfriend, however, at times I felt his character wavered too much. I also wish the ending would have been drawn out a little more, after all that happened it felt a bit rushed.
Overall, great story that brings awareness.
Fake turns into love. At times the story is a bit gritty as date rape is a tough subject, but the author handles it well.
Worth the read, believable characters.
Abbi changed university because something horrible happened to her at the other university. She hopes this year will be different and she is very focused on studying. It doesn’t take long before someone bothers her, but Clay saves her. They talk and become good friends. They both have famous parents and know what it means to be in the spotlight. They both don’t like. They discover they have more in common than they thought.
I loved Abbi and Clay. I loved their friendship. Clay is such a great friend. Abbi hasn’t had a friend like him before. She trusts him. She’s attracted to him and eventually wants to be more than just friends. Clay isn’t the relationship kind, but he wants to try for Abbi. He’s very protective of her. Clay is a sweetheart. He’s caring and friendly. He loves his family and his music.
I can’t imagine the things that Abbi has been through and is still going through. She doesn’t deserve a thing that has happened to her. She is a nice woman who is a perfect student. She becomes stronger. I was so happy that she has met Clay and his friends. She deserves all the love she gets at the end.
I also loved the secondary characters. Clay has amazing friends. His band mates also protect Abbi and believe her. They don’t care that her stepdad is famous. I loved Nessa and Jenna the most. They become great friends of Abbi. They believe her and always have her back. Jenna is so funny and had me laughing multiple times. I hope that the author will write a book about her!
