I have 4 cats right now. I do not have any problems getting them into the carrier. I have found that the issue is ASSOCIATION. If the only time the cat goes into the carrier is to go to the vet, well guess what, they won't like the carrier. I leave the carriers open in one of my bedrooms all the time. I am sure to find at least one of my cats in there at any given time.
Construction seems to be an issue. I know I cursed at my first carrier, but once I got that done, I realized it offered a GREAT feature that none of the other carriers can quite come close to. I have often struggled getting my cats out of the carrier at the vet. What I do now is that, as soon as I go into the exam room, I deconstruct the carrier leaving only the base. My cats never stress. I make sure I have a towel to cover them, They feel cozy and secure. I stand there talking to them and petting them until the vet and assistant start the examination. At that point the cat is taken out of the carrier and I reconstruct the carrier.
Last major point people make is that the Cayman1 is too small. I have a 15 pound cat that regularly chooses to sleep in one and I have often seen her turn around in the carrier with no effort. I do have the Cayman2 for her, but I am often concerned that it is too large.
I recently went through a great effort to by my last two locally with no success, therefore I am grabbing them online today. I have tried the other carriers but they are way under the quality these carriers offer.
It is unfortunate that this company has not tried to bring staff into the petstores to demonstrate their product prior to making it disappear.
Here are my issues with the carrier; firstly, although not complicated the thing is physically challenging to put together. Perhaps I got a dud, but some of the parts took a lot of persuading and yelling to fit together. It took around an hour.
Secondly, and perhaps related, it is very difficult to latch (or unlatch) the carrier door. There is no way you can push the latches together simultaneously. They need to do one, pull the door ajar, and then do the other. Even staggering them requires a lot of force and means it take perhaps 30 seconds to open/shut the door if the carrier is empty - if the carrier has, say, a pissy cat in it who would prefer to be elsewhere, I can be struggling with the door for up to 5 minutes. I've had two fire alarms in my apartment complex in the last few weeks, and if there really had been a fire I would be burned to death.
Some of the other reviewers seem to have similar issues to this, but other don't mention it and give 5 stars so I'm presuming these issues stem from manufacturing deficits. I would still buy this carrier again, particularly as it only gets used a few times a year. If I were needing to transport my cat more regularly I would try another carrier.

Looks really nice and I love the door latch, but not very heavy duty. Works for my 8 pound puppy.Published 4 days ago by GLENNA FINNEY
It's a good carrier. Had the same model from many years ago, but needed a second one. Sadly they aren't as thick as they used to be. Still much better then ones in the pet stores. Read morePublished 5 days ago by Amanda
I bought one 10 years ago for a cat and needed another one for a second car. Very sturdy, reasonably priced and glad it was still around when I needed a second one.Published 2 months ago by Wisco
A bit tricky to put together, but one of my cats liked it so much, she started to sleep in it before our trip, so it made the move even easier! Read morePublished 3 months ago by J. Smith
Kinda cheap made. Wasn't the greatest. Smaller than expected. Quality isn't that great.Published 3 months ago by sherry percified
Assembly was relatively easy. The carrier overall is fine but the internal dimension is quite small. 19 inch is the length from edge to edge. Read morePublished 4 months ago by ccc
